    Martian... This Means War...

So my buddy Martian has gotten into drawing as well as writing fanfiction. I thought it was funny. Then, I decided "hey, I suck at drawing. I can do that too!"

    I'm kidding, buddy.

Anyway, guess what I did? I put my ATROCIOUS drawing ability to the test! These are my first pony (and pretty much any) drawings EVAR.

So I Got Glasses · 8:50pm Jan 16th, 2013

Perhaps you'll get a picture. Maybe you won't.

Rockin' the nerd look.

No, but I don't have to wear them all the time. Only when I'm driving and when I want to because I can't see shit in the distance, like, at all.

Some people look good in glasses. Others don't. I'd say I look stylish. Sort of. Maybe a little bit.

Nevermind it for now.

Anyway, here's a little diddy about Jack and Diane post about authors I don't check out specifically for their Pen Name. DISCRIMINATION.

Defender2222- Yeah. All right. The rest of them must have died or something.

psp7master- This guy must be good with a playstation portable.

Wanderer D- HA.

anybody with one of the mane six in their name along with some random number- WHY?

mostly just a problem with random numbers- WHY? Don't be sayin' "oh it me lucky numba!" NOBODY KNOWS THAT OR WHAT IT MEANS.

Hey, I'm Twilite 2764! HFKJDHFSIDGDSLIGHLFJ D LGJD:LHG:SLKDFH!!!

Eh I can't think straight right now. Anybody else think of any?

And just to be sure, just for people who are stumblin' onto my page, this is a total joke. I'm not going to shrug you off because of a pen name, geez.

Finally, a question. WHY IS YOUR PEN NAME WHAT IT IS?

- Church (< what a lame pen name)

I like Spongebob, and I found a picture with him and a rainbow, so it made sense to me.

Frameless glasses makes you a sexual beast.

KillJoy is my pen-name because it's my actual nickname, and it fits so well with my personality to actually sap the fun in a fun way... also, the capital 'J' in Joy is to show separation between the two names, huzzah. So, you can call me Kill or Joy.

C _ _ _ _ _ _ C _ _ _ _ _ _ _ --> First and last name respectively. 2008 is when people started calling me Csquared, so Csquared08. IT MAKES SENSE! :pinkiecrazy:

718154 Really? Huh. I always figured MCR. Mine is also a nickname, but people think RvB.

Art inspires me, god. What do you want?:derpytongue2:

Well, my name is what it is because I have a Great Uncle Ambrosia. He is fucking awesome!!! Also, I am a bit of a pyro so that is what comes with the Firehoof...and the 13, that is the number of countries I have yet to visit. If that doesn't answer your question, then...:facehoof:

Signed,
Ambrosia M. Firehoof

Any person sharing the name of a Red Vs Blue character has an awesome pen name...Church. Yes.

718157 Aw hell no. Hahaha... nononononono :rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh: no :ajbemused:

I got my pen name, well basically that's what I feel like most of the time... and I'm a brony

My username goes all the way back to 3rd grade when I took a liking to jackals.:ajsmug:

My pen name should be self-explanatory... Favourite pony is Fluttershy, so FluttershyAllTheWay! :yay:

No? Okay... :fluttercry:

I am a fan of Luigi, so luigifan is obvious, but many usernames like that was taken on the site I first tried it (can't remember what site that was), so I added Mr and 102 at random.

Meta Knight rules yo
fc07.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2012/207/e/e/luna_and_meta_knight_by_lucasmaxbros-d58qtm5.jpg
and I just like the number 145 was assigned to one of my first used internet names because the original was being used and it just kinda grew on me. Now everything I do on the internet is as metaknight145.

It's a shortening of one of my gaming handles. "Future" wasn't taken so I didn't bother adding the rest.
I too can't stand numbers in names. Or xXNameXxs, or any other character other than the letters necessary to create a word,
or if there should be an apostrophe in your name but the site won't allow it. :flutterrage:

I'm a firm believer that you should be able to tell your boss your online name without getting fired/wanting to quit from embarrassment.

Although there's something to be said for zZD34TH_NINJA_PWNZz

I would tell you but. . . I'd have to kill you it would spoil my vault interview what the hell: When I started writing fanfic, it was for a book fandom. I didn't foresee writing fanfic for anything but books, since I almost never watch TV, so I saw myself as playing with books.

I also think that a bookplayer should be some sort of steampunk device.

Ivo

Some people look good in glasses. Others don't. I'd say I look stylish. Sort of. Maybe a little bit.

If it isn´t too bad you could allways wear contact lenses.
Got some soft ones for my own since I realized that I´m looking horrible with glasses.
Can´t see or read any thing in the distance, too. Everything further afar as three meters is just a blur.

Ivo isn´t very creative, I know.
It´s derived from 'ivory' and the Old High German origin of my RL-name.
It means 'archer' since in medievel times bows were made of ivory.

Also I simply like the color 'ivory' and the word´s sound. Ivory.
Ivory
Ivory
Ivory
See? I could say it all day :scootangel:

Because I am unimaginative, so I used an OC name. And the personality of said OC, I have found to be rather plain. Because I cannot think of any derogatory thing to happen to them should they come across poison joke.

So I am named after a thing.

Dammit. I still like the name, though.

It is two of my favourite types of numbers, it fits with the format of the names in the show and it reflects the mathematical aspect of myself. The only bit that I'm not a fan of is how pretentious it sounds having perfect at the start.

718159 I want your medication so I can TAKE it.

718160 I see, I see... indeed. INDEED.

718168 It's because I like ribbons in my hair and I want to kiss all the boys.

718198 Haha, that's good, I approve! :ajsmug:

718226 So... is it a jackal?

718240 FLUTTERSHY IS GOD TIER.

718242 at RANDOM? How could you be so RANDOM?

718248 lol, I know the first one was taken. The other MetaKnight follows, like, 3,400 people and is known for I think following the most people on the site? Dont' hold me to that.

718314 I agree fully. There are too many x's. LAMENESS. Also, I like your username. I don't know why, just always have. I guess I just love simplicity.

718329 Hm. I always just figured you were pimping a book business. Quite.

That's not actually true, but one can dream...

718361 I like Ivo. I think it's neat. But it could have been "xXxIVoRyxXx 345", so you missed an opportunity.

718369 See, I don't need contacts. I won't have to wear my glasses all the time. Also SUCKIN' ON CHILI DOGS, OUTSIDE THE TASTEE FREEZE!

Huehuehuehue

718375 I, too, like Live Light. It makes me feel... alive.

718392 lol, nothing's perfect :applecry:

Except math. Damn math...

Glasses are alright if you have the head for them. My head, being massive, makes it very difficult to find a pair that fits comfortably and do not look ridiculous.

As for my handle, 'Martian'...

Well, it's because,

i.imgur.com/lYvz7.png

I'm outta this world, baby.

YYYYYYYYYYEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!

718606 Oh no the 145 came loooong before fim was even thought up, back in 2004 or 2005 or so.

idk if you're familiar with the band Coheed and Cambria or the Amory Wars series of comics/graphic novels, but in the story Ten Speed is The Writer's bicycle and is the physical manifestation of all his ill will and malice. Towards the end of the story Ten Speed begins to heavily influence The Writer as he begins to lose his mind and grasp on reality, finally entering his own story and making a general mess of things.

Well, can't rightly say I'm much of a writer but we all have influences good or bad, don't we?

718606 That was Grif who said that Church, not Church. Church is the gay robot.

Also, I chose my pen name because he was a character I created and I loved the name just that much.

I'd been using this nickname ever since the internet started. No, literally.
I still remember having my 33.6 dial up modem and thinking HOW MUCH LIFE HAD ADVANCED once I got a 56k. And now I complain that 10 mbps is too slow. We're moving too fast.

I'd always been a fan of animation, so when I was deciding what nickname I should use online, I decided to use the name of a little critter found in a rather old Studio Ghibli film, 'Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind'. It also shows up in Laputa. Either way, it was an animal that I found cute and endearing, and I just used its name as my own. KitsuneRisu means 'Fox Squirrel' in Japanese.

farm5.staticflickr.com/4036/4215660683_71ff53f77b_z.jpg

It's that little thing that's on the giant thing's shoulder.

Please note that, despite what people think, I didn't get the name because I'm a furry with no imagination for naming. I am not 'FoxYiffDragon2385'. I have a legitimate reason for using a nickname with two animals in it. >_>;

Also, I have been wearing glasses since I was 12. I love them. They make me look like a boss, especially when I wear my trenchcoat and glare at people.

I wore glasses for years.

When I was in junior high, my eyesight had degraded so badly that I couldn't read what was on the front board - from the front row. I was frightened and actually went an entire year almost completely blind, afraid to even ask in fear of drawing attention to myself.

Upon coming to Canada, my family was left extremely poor. I have no qualms admitting that I grew up in various styles of trailer park and subsidized housing.

Yeah, I'm trailer trash. BIG SURPRISE.

Because of our state of economic affairs, even when my situation was literally dragged out of me addressed, we had to wait for assistance so I could get the Coke bottle-style crap that made me a ridiculous target for every manner of bully - whether an experienced ne'er do well, a hobbyist asshole, or just some girl taller than me, my life in school was akin to the sort of Hell that makes therapists consider buying that second Porsche after all. My name made life hard enough for me, not to mention my being a chubby girl back then, but those glasses made me hate myself and others more than any religious text or cult leader ever could hope to.

I wear contacts now, obviously.

I attribute my adult instabilities and inabilities to those bygone years of beatings, name-callings and suicide attempts. However, what can you do? Nowadays, I'm always thankful for something; the improving health of my ailing father, learning new things, and... ponies. Ponies make me happy. That's why I'm here, and have met such kind and talented folks. I appreciate you - y'know who you are. Thank you.

My pseudonym? Right, right. The point.

I started trolling Equestria Daily, and for wanting to express myself as everyone else seemed to, taught myself how to use Blogger - I took a long time off from the internet and ... anyway. Being immediately drawn to Twilight Sparkle's archetype, even though Pinkie Pie was most certainly the pony I fell hopelessly in love with, Twilight reflected my candor more appropriately so I wanted to be associated with her - she embodies a lot of the traits I admire. However, I was never one to simply accept a name online on a whim - it had to reflect its own self in a sense, becoming integral to and for itself, hm?

However, in this case I just made it up on the spot. I'm not terribly feminine to begin with, so I stuck to the one saving grace that spared my life in both school and occupation - I'll be funny. The name made me giggle madly, and now it's mine to abuse as I see fit.

I was drunk at the time, eh.

That's about the most I've ever shared with anyone about myself in years. Don't hold your breath for more. Just simply reminiscing brought me to the tears, ugh. THE TEARS!

:pinkiehappy: - Keep smiling, goddammit!

KiaraKovu123...:pinkiecrazy: Yep, that's me. Just a big TLK2 fan here. Nothing special...

I JUST FRICKIN LOVE THAT MOVIE!:pinkiehappy:

Oh, and, glasses? COOL! I had glasses, but I lost them....:twilightsheepish:

718661 I am familiar with Coheed but not the graphic novel, sorry :pinkiesad2:

Anyway, that's interesting.

718796 Studio Ghibli is probably my most favorite thing ever. I adore everything from Grave of the Fireflies to Howl's Moving Castle, and I've yet to see Arriety, but I'm sure that it will also be good.

I honestly do not believe I've seen this film. I recognize the characters. When was the release date? Oh, an by the way, you get extra Church points for this being your username.

718931 A man being mauled by a tiger would have been neater but THIS WORKS AS WELL. I have a friend studying to be an engineer. It's too much math. Waaaaaaaaay too much math.

718966 I love you, Twifight

I can vouch for abolutely everybody that has met you here that you are THE most vibrant and exuberant individual on this hellhole called fimfiction, and your zany and wonderful personality has brought a smile to EVERYBODY that you have come into contact with. It is peope like you that makes fimfiction what it is, not big name authors, not people thanking others for the favorites, not Church's god damn blog posts. It is an unbelievable pleasure to know you on this site, and I certainly hope that more people find out who you are because you deserve ALL THE FRIENDS.

Not to mention you have more talent in your little finger than I do in my entire body.

Your story is something that I cannot relate to, but something I can empathize with. There were several instances in high school where I contemplated suicide, not because of bullying, but because I felt I was ignored and unappreciated as a person. Could you imagine a fimfiction without Church? Heh, it was entirely conceivable. Since I've realized to be a bit stronger. I've realized that I should put others before myself, because that's what I was put on this earth for.

You shouldn't let your background define who you are as a person. You should strive to be whatever you want to be.

The tables are turning for you, Twifight. Because a loving and remarkable person such as yourself deserves only the utmost respect and adulation. I am saddened to hear about your struggles in the past. But now is a different time, and I hope that you are making the most of it.

And every time somebody sees that pseudonym of yours, it should bring a smile to their face. It does to mine.

Thank you for sharing this with me.

Love,

Church

719039 The second Lion King? Aw, but I liked the first one!

719201
Actually, don't expect too much from Arriety and the Borrowers. The shame is that Studio Ghibli has gone down ever since Miyazaki's nephew started taking on projects.

If there's a few that you MUST watch, you gotta watch Nausicaa (1984) and Princess Mononoke (1997). All others pale. PALE. Even Howl's and Spirited Away. PALE I TELL YOU.

Also.

glasses rock.

719287
I actually didn't watch it in English, so I can't compare =)

Now, I'm not one of those "ARHEAHHAHGEAHG It must be in Japanese ARRRR" and I know they did a good job. I definitely know they did. I just happen to live in Asia so the Japanese versions are actually more available to me before the English ones come out.

Spirited Away, I found, was a great movie. It was a FANTASTIC journey, but I would akin it to a sort of more light-hearted journey of discovery. Mononoke was deep, had unexplained lore that had world-level effects and had a bit of a more sinister tone that I really liked.

Honestly, between both, I only prefer Mononoke because it had a more established world lore and had a really solid story of the Hero's Journey in it, and it didn't have that fairy-tale ending where everyone's happy. Spirited Away was more of a fairy tale in that sense. Nothing that happened was GOING to have any stakes and you did watch the show knowing that.

Again, not that it's bad. Some of my favourite movies have that casual quality in which you just enjoy it for the sake of it, especially Pixar's latest, 'Brave'.

So by their own merits, each are excellent movies.
I also did like Kiki's a lot! That one was just FUN. And very cute.

Did you watch Pom Poko? That one is the third one I'd recommend, but not at first because it includes many many uses for the Raccoon Dog Scrotum and might destroy poor Church's mind.

It's.... my name. :moustache:

DIS IZ DA MOST INTERESTING POST EVAH, I MEAN, OHMAUGAWD SDFHJSKJDHF98Q34YUOWIE!!!

Don't listen to KitsuneRisu, folks. He's from ALASKA.

Just trust me on this.

719201

I simply adore you, Church.

YOU ROCK THOSE GLASSES!

:pinkiehappy:

I think glasses are sexy... but that's me. I lost my pair though. I need to get a replacement.

718329 Steampunk device? Hmmm... I'll definitely keep this in mind :trixieshiftright:

719397
SHIT YOU IN THE FACE ;_;
... the face.

How dare you tell people of the lands that I was born! ;_;
Despite that it has never snowed here before... and that right now it's 35 degrees C.... hm...
I love you anyway.

719446
Yes. THAT SCENE. With the arrow. And to think it was done like... in the 80's. And it's better than some of the crap they pump out nowadays *cough*FrogPrincess*cough*.

Yeah, the other difference between Mononoke and Spirited would be that. I agree. The characters in Spiriter were far more colourful, but at the same time, if you asked me the ONE character that actually gives me chills down my spine when I think of her, it's the antagonist from Mononoke.

She was such a bitch!

For Brave I liked it a lot because of the fact that it wasn't about the story, it was about the telling. Within the first 20 minutes I already knew how it was going to end, and by the time they established that, I was fairly okay with the rest of it. Interestingly enough, though, I didn't like UP that much because I felt they sort of lost the plot after the old man got there. The tone wasn't too consistent and they didn't know where our investments were, and that was distracting to me.

Besides, Disney is becoming Pixar and Pixar is becoming Disney. Wreck-It Ralph was SUCH a good movie, I was stunned.

Porco Rosso was... alright. I don't actually have many comments on it. Biasness though, I dislike pigs. Haha!

And no, Church doesn't mind. We're giving him movie recommendations, after all. RIGHT CHURCH? RIGHT!?

719396

That is the best story. ;_;

719201
Well I like them both equally! 1 1/2 was good too, but not enough lions. 2 is a better love story, while 1 is better animated. I LIKE EM' BOTH, IT'S A MATTER OF TASTE!

You wouldn't by chance mean a little DITTY about Jack and Dianne would you?

Kudos on the glasses by the way.

719608
Actually, yeah. Suddenly Vanellope took principle, didn't she? Kind of stole it away. Which was... interesting because the dynamic was there. Didn't bother me too much. And also, Sarah Silverman in general grates on me after a while in anything she does, haha.

I'm happy they didn't go overboard with the catchphrase. I was actually disappointed there wasn't more Fix-It Felix! But again, the dynamic took me for a ride and I found myself rather refreshed by it, because instead of the typical 'buddy' movie, they actually paired the two titular characters with ancillary characters. It was very well written over all.

Also, they put in Beard Papa. I don't know how prolific that is overseas, but here in Asia he's a freaking Cream Bun Icon. I was STUNNED they put him in there.

And yes, do you have a link for me? I'd appreciate =) PM me!

EDIT: Speaking of which.

Jesus. The short story attached to Ralph? I almost wanted to walk out of the cinema after that because that was ALREADY SO FREAKING SATISFYING. I'd have paid 8 bucks for that.

719396 Congratulations! YOU WIN INTERNETS.

719446 I WELCOME side conversations!

Also, big fan of Up. Kudos to you. I would argue for Spirited Away, but only because most acclaim it to be his masterpiece along with one of his first pieces, My Neighbor Totoro.

I do like Mononoke.

719625 Wreck it Ralph was a surprising movie. The trailers made it appear as if it were going to be a simple run of the mill type "gone by the wayside" movie. It was surprising.

Also, nothing compares to the new Monsters University Movie coming out this spring, because it has the best trailer I have EVER seen for a movie.

719736
You know which movie did that for me? Trailer was CRAP, movie was BRILL.

Ratatouille.

And jeez, that Monsters U... shit.. now I'm conflicted. Because the FIRST trailer was like... meh.. but this spot is very well done.

CURSE YOU DISNEY. MAKING ME WONDER.

:ajsmug: Well, there's quite a conversation going on here. Always good to see. And glasses you say? :rainbowdetermined2: Nothing wrong with that, they can add a studious look of intelligence, and if you get a pair just right for your style, your get cool points as well. It almost seems wrong that I have the best vision in my family and am practically the only who doesn't need glasses and yet I've wanted them for years cause I thought they looked good on me......funny how that works.:rainbowlaugh:

 Now on the subject of names, I've been using mine for years. Since the age of Dial-up internet and AOL being king, sweet lunas plot I feel old some days. :twilightsheepish: Originally, It was "ShadowGeist", for one of my favorite characters of the same name In Capcoms Street Fighter EX Series. Then when I became a part of an Online Roleplay Forum for several years I altered it slightly to "ShadowGeistZero". The members there used it as they saw fit. Sometimes I was "ShadowGeist", others I was "SGZ", and with others I was "Geist". I have been known by that last form since then, and only see fit to use the others when that one is taken. I'm not a fan of adding numbers and such to a name either. I say if you can't have it, find a better one, or figure out a solid way to alter it that you can live with.

:ajsmug: Truth be told, being called "Geist" actually feels rather appropriate once I really took some time to look at it. I'm not German myself, nor, can I speak it really but I love the way the word sounds and there was just something that felt right about being called "Ghost" after awhile. Really, I am a specter with people most days. I'm exceptionally quiet, people tend to forget I'm around, and when I do get noticed they think I appeared out of nowhere and simply vanish when I leave. I scare people when I'm not even trying and just walking around the house. :rainbowlaugh:

Oh, man, I can barely even remember how I got my handle... I think I got the word "Cypher" in my head because it was the name of one of the robots (Vitruariods) in the game Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram, which I owned on my Dreamcast back in the day. I mean, it wasn't even one of the characters I liked! But I did have a passing interest in cryptology and ciphers at the time, and I thought that there was something really cool about taking a concept of a pen-name/handle (which in itself is supposed to be an obfuscation or mapping of your real identity onto a fake one) and simply stating that this layer of opacity is my ciphering my identity. Hence, "Cypher".

I stuck with it because I thought that it sounded pretty cool, and I ended up doing a ton of research into cyber security as a hobby (and later as a minor in college) so it continued to fit. The problems with the name are that A) some people think that it's from The Matrix (the fallen messiah character who betrays the good-guys is named Cypher) and B) people who have read Wizard's First Rule by George R. R. Martin ask me if I named myself after the protagonist Richard Cypher which I totally did not because I only read the book for the first time about a year ago! Great book by the way, highly recommend it. Oh, and C) it seems to be a common enough name online that I often times have to start sticking an "X" at the end of it or change it to "Cyphen" or something. I saw some other user on this site using "Sipher" as his handle or something, and I though it was a clever variation that I hadn't thought of before.

But that's not why I'm writing this comment!

I'm writing because dude, I totally feel ya on the glasses thing! I got my first ever pair of glasses a-week-and-a-half ago. I just got into the real world! I mean, my company gives me great medical benefits, so I get this free vision exam and I'm like "well, I know that my eyesight is 20/20 but I'll go to the eye doctor anyways, because it's free!" and so I went and he was like "you've got minor astigmatism" and I was like "that's not what you were supposed to say!" and one week later I'm wearing reading glasses! I came in with a big smile on my face and came out all super-depressed! I mean, they're just reading glasses, so it's no big deal, and I'm laughing the whole thing off, but goddamnit my eyes are f*cked up!
:fluttershbad:Waaaaah!

Never make wishes you won't trust in.

Seriously.

718606 nahh it started off as jackal and then went to jackal konsur and all that crazy shi# and it final ended up as jaxelar:pinkiesmile:

718606 sorry for the late reply but :yay: I GOT REPLIED TO BY CHURCH :pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy:

719331 Can't see first Picture unfortunately, but I approve of 2nd picture if that means anything

719817 I must have a sixth sense or something. Am I the only one who can see your comments? We share a special connection. Now we can wreak havoc on fimfiction without getting caught.

719989 man, I'm terrible at anything with computers . But the way you chose your username is cool. There is a Sypher around here if you've seen 'em :ajsmug:

The glasses, haha. You don't have to fret! Glasses are COOL. Who cares if your eyes are fucked up? No one will KNOW that!

- Uh... Church? They're wearing glasses, of course people know that...

Shut up, me.

720056 ... yes, ma'am...

720860 Of course you did... why wouldn't you?

718624 You

You win everything. Absolutely everything. Congrats.
