Keeping people updated · 6:00am Feb 29th, 2012

I’ve decided to post every time I hit a mile stone of 1000 words. Maybe slightly less for this blog, actually, but I wanted to keep people in something of a loop and passing 3000 seemed good, as the average chapter is roughly 4000

I’m really struggling with this chapter. Jacqueline Carey of Kushiel’s Dart series is my main inspiration for most of the style of Paradise, due to a similar value of beauty and intelligence that the main characters share between series. That, and Carey is perhaps one of the greatest prose writers I’ve ever read and I’d be happy to emulate a tenth of the beauty she can weave.

Jim Butcher is my inspiration for most action sequences, I consider him a master of both plot and exciting battles. His characters are very enjoyable too, and he has an awesome sense of humor.

Though, this latest chapter is proving difficult. I’m walking over what I feel is unsure ground as I am trying something new and I’m losing my confidence in what I’ve written. I keep rewriting passages or stuffing them full of notes to come back to later.

Well, I am making progress at the least. No hiatus for this story yet.

We await eagerly, the next chapter of paradise

Take it easy, there's no use pushing yourself too hard

Update the story whenever you're ready. We will be patient :twilightsheepish:

I call that (going back and rewriting stuff obsessively) "making sure it's perfect". Or at the very least, as perfect as you feel comfortable with.
All in all, we'll still be here when you update, so take your time. =3
