Hasbro, I'm disappoint, but on the other hand, I can see why you did it. Oh well. Life goes on.
How did you find your way here? Nobody here but us ghosts.

I'm mostly disappointed in the level of self-entitled complaining going on. Some of the pro-Derpyists have been VERY aggressive to those with differing opinions.

True, but some people, due to fanon, care about and are emotionally attached to "Derpy" to a degree equal to or greater than the mane cast. I don't think the portrayal is the issue, after all there are plenty of (popular) fics where, other than the eyes, Derpy is not derpy at all. I think just the character being messed around with pisses people off not due to entitlement but due to attachment.
Honestly the new portrayal is just fine if a little rushed, but I disagree with them changing the character especially the eyes. The name and voice I don't really mind.

I can get behind that. I'm puzzled by changing the eyes; Derpy has been in lots of episodes before. Are they going to change all her appearances retroactively, or will this just stand out as one out of place change?
In terms of continuity, it seems like an odd thing to do.

Apparently it will only be that one scene that gets altered.
I still find it offensive that they removed the disability itself along with the things that could be considered offensive to a disabled person. But people are crazy bad overreacting.
To be fair, its the weekend, and we arne't likely to learn the whole story until monday.
From what I've been hearing, its not necessarily hasbro's fault.
At any rate, we all need to learn the true meaning of Tolerance. Ignore the qualities that annoy/upset you, and move on with life.
Does anyone actually know anything for sure? Was this really done because people thought that her voice was offensive? And was it done by Hasbro? Someone suggested that they just wanted to secure the copyright. Someone else said it might be iTunes. I have no idea of the jurisdiction of Hasbro over DHX Media, and it seems like not many people do.
Also, Derpy is still slightly walleyed. They didn't make her eyes completely focused
The iTunes version is the only version that's been altered. Derpy's still gonna derp, but it won't be endorsed by Apple.

I think the approach to something like a possible legal threat by propably offended, disabled people (common theory by now. 19644 True, I have not heared anything for a fact, but as long as I keep it to a theoretical level, that should be fine.)
If that were the case, I find the approach still more than a little offending.
I understand that having the eyes fixed in-canon somewhere along the way in the series would have propably taken too much screen-time, but doing it this way..
Let's just say that resonates a bit with my idea of waving a big "This Abomination Was Never Meant To Be!"-sign.
Loads of people identified with her, I think we can take that for a fact.
..sooo I CAN understand why people are upset.
Bronies tend to really love the show (kinda part of the definition) and for the Derpy-fanbase this adds an additional tinge of backstab-flavor.
Well, let's hope for the best (whatever that is for everypony).
In my case that would include a undo of the changes.
Hogh to aim for and a great PR-stunt to pull off but hay, as long as you're hoping and dreaming, why not aim high as long as you're at it?
19644 "Love and Tolerate" sure is good in my book, but don't confuse that with "Shut up and Endure".
I believe in a good quarrel.
Granted, people tend to take it over the top, but even with Bronies, it's still the internet.
Let them have their moment of rage, they'll come around.
can I edit this in any way?
I accidentially put the 1st Rainbow Sparkle- quote on the rightmost side of the screen where noone can read it.
Good thing he/she only wrote one..
