June 6 is a big day for two reasons: first, I’m going in for surgery; and second, it happens to be the 25th anniversary of me writing fanfiction. Both of which lead to one conclusion: I am getting old. And in true fashion, I’d like to ramble on a bit…
Hey folks, just a quick one here: the current chapter is almost ready to go, but it needs a bit of work and I’m not quite happy with it. And after making you all wait, I didn’t want to disappoint you with something that wasn’t quite good enough. So, even though I prefer to update this on Sundays, this one will be a day late. See you tomorrow, folks!
Sorry, folks, I wanted to update today but the last two weeks at my teaching job have been pretty tiring, and I want to take the time to make sure the next chapter is really good and worth the wait. Please give me a bit more time and I’ll have something nice for you soon, hopefully next weekend!
"There is..." I paused to give the sentence thought. It was perfectly rational when I began, but broke up rapidly when I was only partially through saying it. Perhaps this is what organic lifeforms endured every day. Indecision in the middle of decisions. Deciding that completing the sentence was of primary importance and such thoughts could be saved for later contemplation, I continued. "...an anomaly in this device, Pinkie Pie.
"Really?" A practical burst of pink appeared over one shoulder as Maude's sister appeared without the usual sound of galloping hooves or other motion. She looked firmly at the device's screen, the keyboard, the not-a-real-mouse-but-only-called-one, and the power plug before adding, "It looks okeyaldokies fine, just like Twilight which is not our Twilight but the other Twilight in the other world which is really weird but kinda nice when she looked it over when I said I wanted to buy a present for you and said it was just fine and she'd set it up so you could use it even without a whole bunch of words that she said after that but it must not be important because it works just fine. Just click it."

"But it is wrong." I pointed to the box on screen, which was rather redundant since it was the only thing on the glowing screen, but this was Pinkie Pie and it was best to avoid imprecise terminology. "I am not a human, so I cannot verify that I am one by clicking on this box."

Oh man, that is great.
Love the extra elaboration and build-up toward the joke on this. Can practically hear Turing saying it.
