A New Problem About My Dog · 6:02am March 4th
Hello everyone, I hope things are okay for you all today, recently I have been noticing some issues regarding my dog again, after looking at the certain issues I've seen with him, I think he may have diabetes. I've already gone through a tough problem like this a few months before, and I was wondering if any of you know how I help him with this.
Like I said moments ago, I think my dog Jack may have diabetes because he's been acting off again for the past week or so, he's not only been drinking far more then he usually does, he also eats more and goes to the bathroom more then what he's usually done too. I think it may just be a result of him needing to be in the house for so long because of Winter, it was too cold for him and my other dog Boomer to be out for more then half an hour with how freezing it got where I live, and this could just be him adjusting to being out again for longer then usual again.
But I think this is something concerning, Jack's been with me and my family for over 10 years, he's an old boy, but he's still always active and happy like he's always been since he was a puppy, but when stuff like this happens, I tend to get really concerned, and may even freak out once I see that my dog is going through some kind of pain I don't know about, it happened a few months ago when he was suddenly yelping and moving slower then he did, but after a couple weeks or so of it, he acted like he always does, and it could just be his age showing it.
But if he really does have diabetes, it's really worrying me even more, a dog with diabetes usually has 1 to 2 years left before they pass on, and while I knew that one day I will lose him, I didn't think it would happen like this, Jack's been one of my closest friends since I was 12, he's been through a lot with us, and yet he's still been a great friend regardless of it.
Again I could be wrong about this, he went through something like this a few months back with a bunch of yelping and was moving a lot slower, he likely might've hurt himself in a way we just couldn't figure out, and if he acts normal again I'll let you all know.
but if he really does have this, I'm.. just gonna have to prepare for the worst, I'll do whatever I can to make sure he's happy and still lives his life to the fullest until then, but after so many years, losing a beloved pet I've had for so long is gonna be very hard, I've just lost my great grandma just after last Christmas, and me and my family are bracing for my other Grandma's passing soon, she's very old, but has been fighting off Cancer, while it was gone for a while, it recently has come back, and she's really tired of fighting it off so much, she may have till May or so till she passes, and it all happening so fast feels like it's too much for me.
I've lost a lot of loved ones in the past couple years, my mom passed away at 43 in her sleep, me, my aunt, uncle and brother all received the news when we were simply going to have lunch that day, and when we got a call from my cousin that she was gone, it caught all of us off guard, it was due to poor health conditions to make it clear, she didn't see that well, often took tons of painkiller meds and could barely drive, but the news still caught us all of guard, and me and my brother, and my grandma were all were really depressed about it for over a month.
Then just last year, I lost my Great Grandpa simply do to old age, and my Great Grandma soon came after Christmas like I said before, and will be losing another close one soon, and possibly losing my dog soon too, it's incredibly overwhelming for me, it's one of the reasons I've been a lot slower with writing then usual, this family drama I've been going through has had a hard affect on me, and while I do still love to write and make good stories for you all, what I've been going through in my own life has been hard.
I will try to push through this when the time comes, I've just wanted to make this post in case this does end up being true or not with my dog having diabetes, I could be wrong again since he experienced something similar a few months back because it's simply his age showing, but if not.. I'm gonna have a lot to go through. Loss is inevitable, but the most we can do is appreciate the time we have with our loved ones before it happens, and hold their memories in our hearts.
I just want to thank you all so much for the support I've had since I became a writer, one of the reasons I became a writer was not just to grow as a writer and improve upon mistakes I make, but also to make friends too. And I thank those who've been sticking with me for over the past year, while I do still have a lot to get done, I'm gonna take it step by step to make my stories the best they can be, sorry again for the long delay on most of them, I promise I'll get back to them soon, but I'm gonna try focusing on one or two stories at a time before then, but that's all I have to say for this post. Thank you all for hearing me out about this, and I'll see you all soon.
I hope your dog is okay.
Sending out good vibes for your pup.
I am sorry you have to go though this.
I don't know what its like since I never had a actual pet properly, but its still devastating
(Haven't saw the reply yet on the messages due to nervousness and busyness)
Have you taken your dog to a vet to see what could be the problem?

He hasn't done it as nearly as much as when I last made this post thankfully, so he could just have been going through a small problem at the time, like the last time I made a post like this, he was acting like that because he pulled a muscle, and just needed extra rest for a while, so I think the same can be said for Jack here too, but if anything happens, I'll be sure to give an update.
