Signal boost: To Call a Lesser Sun

As I write this, there's a story in the New Stories box which is worth the time of horizon fans, not least because it's a fresh re-envisioning (with permission) of a horizon story.

To Call A Lesser Sun

My Quiet Boy and Moon Horse, once upon a time, envisioned a world where a certain equine goddess exists as a tulpa of sorts to a young boy who has fallen in love with a storybook. With remarkable economy of words, Mockingbirb cuts in about halfway through that narrative and smoothly guides it to a remarkably different ending. It provides enough exposition to ground itself without the source story, but hits different if you've read the original. All told, it's a lovely what-if that brought a smile to my face.
