Tape Deck's Mixtape: Track 279 · 11:36pm February 14th
Happy Valentine's Day; make sure you've agreed beforehand to any and all invasive medical procedures.
While I picked this for today soley because of the band name, the lyrics are surprisingly topical.
"Blown A Wish", from the 1991 album loveless by my bloody valentine. (The names being in lowercase is not a mistake.)
Song sounds almost a little distorted, like it's being played on a record player that keeps slowing down and speeding back up. Not bad, though.

(Nurse Redheart doesn't look very happy in either of her emojis.)

Thanks. (And I get what you're saying, it barely even sounds like guitars anymore.)

That work? I even reverted her cutie mark back to its original version.
But I’m doing snow angels on Valentine’s Day in my backyard with my golden retriever.

Is it actually snowing outside for you?
Pretty good. 👍

🇹🇭🇦🇳🇰🇸
5831251
Yeah and it did like 5 inches a couple days ago too.
5831272
Nice.
Don't have any of that here anymore, but there's been some rain recently.

Happy valentines my dudes
5831259
Okay, what the heck.
I must have accidentally sent those flags, as I have no memory of intentionally doing that.
Thanks.
5831301
Ditto.
5831400
I was trying to figure out what the heck that meant
There's got to be joke somewhere here about Redheart "stealing somepony's heart".
-----------------
mbv, ever a strange wall of filtered sound. The vocals on this one are nice, and some of those backing chords sound pretty cool.
Thanks for sharing!

I remember thinking you were channeling RD2012.
Man, hearing and using interwebz handles can be odd sometimes.

Wait..."my bloody valentine"
my implies ownership, and if you literally stole someone's heart, it would be...bloody.
My subconscious was working overtime on the "invasive medical procedures" joke, it seems. Hilarious.
That entire album is wonderful, actually listened to it again earlier today.

Okay, I gotta drag you here too Cage, because I just figured out what happened.
I think.
So anyways, what I had attempted to do was use some letter emojis I found within Fimfic's selection to spell out "THANKS", and that's how it appears on my computer:
i.ibb.co/zTXDhgkR/Screenshot-2025-02-28-230758.png
What appears to be the case is that Fimfic's UI somehow changed the six letters in "THANKS" into pairs of "TH" "AN' and "KS", which it decided to render as their respective country flag emojis.
(I'm familiar with this as I change my Discord status to different countries every day don't ask, and the flags always use two-letter combinations as their identifier.)
On my phone, (which I'll assume is similar to how other people see it) it doesn't say "THANKS", but shows the flag of Thailand (TH), and what I assume are two "unknown flag" icons.
So, I guess that turned out to be way more complicated and interesting than I could have ever expected it to be.
I'd say I've mostly become accustomed to it, though I still have to sometimes process the strange fact that a multitude of people know me, a normally-named guy, as "Tape Deck".

Lol that's crazy
5833507
Very nice! Good job, Tape Deck's subconscious!

I had wondered about that detail of your Discord account; I was unsure whether it was something you were doing manually.
Congratulations on solving this mystery! You can now lay the blame squarely on "technological error".

The whole concept reminds me a bit of title accumulation. I was thinking about this recently, and realized that appending titles to your name after the completion of any random thing would be entertaining. For example:
Juxtaponition.
The One Who Lurks; He Who Scribed ATimberwolf Story; Commander Of Ten Followers; Reporter Of Multiple Fimfiction Malfeasants; Presenter Of The Occasional Fanart; Second-In-Command Of The Esteemed Carrot Top's Fan Club.

For reasons unknown to me, one day I just decided to go through all the island countries/country-like-things daily, and I've since been going back and doing the non-island countries.
And yes, entirely manually.
Funny.
