A Bit Long But I Think It‘s Worth It · 2:32am February 12th
In addition to trying to catch up on this backlog, putting new fan fictions out, and working my arse off, I have a much bigger project in the pipeline.
So what do I mean by "bigger", right? To answer that I have to go back to 2017 when I first released Friendship Is Forever. I had been reading fanfics on here for a few months already. Then came what I consider to be Argodaemon‘s best work, Remembance. I knew then that I needed to write a story based on that video.
By the time I finished Friendship Is Forever and the first few SciSet fics, I knew I had unleashed a hidden talent…creative writing.
Now, that brings us to the present. The following is the second draft of the prologue of a book tentatively titled Roadside Assistance that I hope to publish late 2025:
I had no idea which was worse, the snow storm or the increasing pain in my wrist. The visibility was almost zero, with the fog lights not making a difference. Because of the lack of visibility - and the road being unplowed - I nearly put my Charger in the ditch two or three times already.
This freak snowstorm was originally forecast as a light dusting that would barely stick to the ground. Of course, Mother Nature had other plans. The first cold front carrying this damned thing stalled out on the northern shore of Lake Erie and began gaining moisture. That pause lasted a little over a day before a the next front shoved the first front into northwestern Pennsylvania. Lake effect snow, gotta love it.
The pain in my wrist was caused by my husband. He had had one of his drunken tantrums when I came back early from a girls‘ night out. He accused me of cheating on him - as he regularly does - before tearing up the living room; throwing couch cushions, blankets, books, et cetra. Then came the name calling: slut, whore, trailer trash, and more. Finally the beer, wine, and whiskey bottles entered the aerial assault. When he finally left the room, I thought it was over.
I thought wrong.
As I was searching the freezer for some Hot Pockets to snack on, the sound of something cracking filled the apartment. It took a few moments for the pain to register before I realized where the sound came from…me. Moments, well, seconds later he connected again, this time against the small of my back. I ended up blacking out after that.
Some time later I came to. My husband was passed out in his chair with a baseball bat next to him on the floor. Even with all the pain, I seemed to move like lightning. I grabbed my purse and keys then slipped out the door as quietly as possible.
I decided to drive myself, even with a suspected broken wrist, to the hospital in the next county. Trying to keep a low profile, a backroad during a blizzard seemed like a good idea at the time. Shortly after getting on said road, however, I realized how big of a mistake it was.
Forty-five minutes - more or less - later it finally happened. My Charger began to fish-tail upon exiting a curve. With my left wrist being almost useless, I did my best to regain control. That is, until the drive tire hit paydirt on a patch of slush and went nose-first into the ditch on the left side of the road. After a brief panic attack, I lost consciousness for the second time that night.
The next thing I knew, there was someone banging on the passenger side rear window. Because of the flood lights from their truck, all I could see was the person‘s silluette. What I didn‘t know then was how much that silluette would affect my life.
Here is the story…
There you have it.
Let me be clear, this is not from any fanfic that I am going to write but rather a novel at a later date.
If you made it this far in the blog, drop a comment on what you think of the prologue.
Definitely a gripping opening. Nothing gets the reader's interest quite like mortal peril. best of luck with getting this onto shelves!

Thanks bunches.
So long story short is, you are going to be writing an actual novel/book that is going to be in stores and that grey box is a sneak peek of what it’s going to be like?

That‘s right. It‘s gonna be Amazon/Kindle exclusive in eBook and paperback format.

I‘d like to have it ready for release by June 1st (Gay Pride Month, since it is a LGBTQ+ romance) but realistically I am projecting sometime in November. As time gets closer to release, I‘ll be plugging it on here and on my YouTube channel (after I begin uploading content).
