Cage's Top Tens: My Top Ten Favorite Gravity Falls Characters · 2:56am February 4th
Ah, Gravity Falls. Probably, if you ask me, the best cartoon. Period. Yeah, it's not my favorite, but it's pretty high. My 2nd favorite show, (Hazbin Hotel), while great when you don't think about it, the more you do, the more holes are in the plot.
My favorite (My Little Pony) has a few... stinker episodes.
Meanwhile Gravity Falls has nearly perfect writing, and it's worst episodes are still "C" tier, which IS STILL GOOD. Granted that is probably helped by the fact it only had 2 seasons, along with one of the smartest creators of any IP I like, Alex Hirsch.
But we're not here to talk about the episodes. Nah, we're here to talk about the characters.
#10: Tambry
...Why her? She has no real impact on the plot or anything.
...
Let a guy enjoy someone purely based on appearance, okay? It helps that she has no hateable qualities.
#9: Robbie Valentino
A lot of people hate Robbie.
...
I like the emo aesthetic.
That's about it.
#8: Old Man McGucket
Finally, someone I like for reasons more than looks.
He's hilarious! He also has a tragic backstory that I just love (Season 2's Society of the Blind Eye is one of my favorite episodes).
#7: Dipper Pines
He's smart, funny, has a lot of great moments (I mean, main character. DUH). He cares about his sister, which is also admirable. His crush on Wendy is adorable, his geekiness when it comes to the author is also adorable. He's just cool.
#6: Stanley Pines
Most quotable character in all of fiction right here.
And now, for a list of my favorites:
"My ex-wife still misses me, BUT HER AIM IS GETTING BETTER! HER AIM IS GETTING BETTER!!! You see, it's funny because marriage is terrible."
Dipper: "Grunkle Stan, are you wearing a blindfold?"
"Haha, no. But with these cataracts I might as well be. What is that, a woodpecker?"
"GIDEON!!! GET OUT OF MY CHAIR, KID!!!!"
"When there's no cops around, anything's legal!"
And more that I cannot think of right now. He is funny. This is why I love him. Also gotta love the fact that he isn't the stereotypical greedy money guy. I mean he is, but he puts those he loves above his money, and that is awesome.
#5: Soos Ramirez
Soos is funny, and so sweet! He's gotta be one of the nicest characters in fiction. And he's also got quite a few funny moments. For example, I love in the Season 1 finale, when he has all those random jobs. Which reminds me of another Stan quote:
"The entire lower half of your body is on fire."
Soos: "Shhh. We're having a moment."
Soos is just awesome.
#4: Pacifica Northwest
For most of the show, she is Queen Bitch. Don't like her. Then she gets redeemed. The Season 2 episode Northwest Mansion Mystery made me do a complete 180 with her. That episode, and that episode alone, made me love a character I had previously despised.
#3: Stanford Pines
The entire show hypes up the mysterious author of this journal Dipper finds in the first episode. Halfway through Season 2, and Stanley has a secret twin brother... who happens to be the author. He's only there for 13 episodes, but he proves himself to be badass. Plus in the real life version of Journal 3, it explains what he's been up to in the Multiverse, and it makes him even more badass.
#2: Wendy Corduroy
Badass redhead. All I gotta say. Love Wendy. I also had a crush on her when I was younger. It... it kinda still lingers. Not unwelcome yet, but... I do get older. She is Immortalized as a teen.
Honorable Mentions:
- Shmebulock
- Mabel Pines
- Sheriff Blubs/Deputy Durland
- Blendin Blandin
#1: Bill Cipher
What? Don't act surprised. Discord was tied for my number 1 MLP character.
Best Disney villain. The amount this show got away with when it comes to Bill is insane. His second episode, Season 2's Sock Opera, was disturbing as hell, the last three episodes were full of creepy things (NAMELY THAT THRONE), the line "I've got some children I need to make into corpses"...
And then the book. Probably one of the best things to come from 2024 was the Book of Bill. And thisisnotawebsitedotcom.com (LOOK UP "GAME THEORY" AND "WEIRD").
Love this little evil Dorito.
Anyway, join me next week for my top ten Video Game series!
That show's one I've planned on watching for a while, and I'll surely get to it someday.
Gotta love Bill Cipher.

Someday better come soon.

Well, due to the absolute barrage of references to it I've seen in the comment section of songs that I like (including Yes, King Crimson, The Cars, Talking Heads, the list probably goes on) and a few videos on StormXF3's channel, I finally broke down and watched the first two episodes of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure recently.
It's honestly pretty good.

That one may end up on my list. But it's gotta wait in line behind Steven Universe, The Owl House, BTAS, and many others. Plus I still need to finish Teen Titans first
Also, StormXF3 mentioned!

Certainly one of the best Pony animators out there.

Indeed. I love the series with Dash’s book. Also the man v Pony series.

I think I may have actually watched all of his videos at this point (though it took me forever to get to the last few), except for the 20-minute My Little Dashie short film.

👀
I would say watch it now, but... it's gonna come up in my blogs again.
A great show during Halloween season, this & Owl House.
