I don't think my eye is getting better. · 6:12am January 7th
So its been over a year since I had that infection that messed up my left eye, and i don't think its getting better.
Right now if I close my good eye and look at the screen the letters just vanish into a grey, hazy line. I know there's text there but its impossible to read. I can only read it clearly if I increase the text size up to 500% and that's with my glasses. without its still hard to read. I can only read something if the page is held inches away from my face.
What spurred this on was that I looked out at the moon tonight and took off my glasses and saw 6 moons. with them its 3. I have spent a whole year clean of alcohol, caffeine, and ate healthily, even got a daily workout routine and I have my doubts that when my next checkup in February comes around that any positive news will be given. I suspect that its actually gotten worse.
I think my last option may be eye surgery.
i dont know your eye history, but that sucks. the eye is one of those things that are very easily damaged. i myself, is blind as a bat without my glasses. and struggle to see even with them .guessing glaucoma or something ?
I am sorry to hear that, hope the doctors find a way to make it better.
What you need is a spoon, some warm water, a lot of booze and a bit of courage.
Thanks to those who commented. I was feeling pretty bummed last night after realizing all my effort seems to have been a waste of time.
what was the name of your illness again? is there any cure/treatment for it?
seeing six of one object is very concerning.

It was shingles, which is a virus that lives in your nerves. I contracted it and it spread across my face and into my eye causing my astigmatism.
I got my glasses at a run-of-the-mill walmart and they informed me that they gave me the strongest lenses they had, so unless they can direct me to someplace that can give stronger results its lasik surgery (and I don't have health insurance)

Lasick has gotten way cheaper over the years but it still costs a pretty penny. Also lasick isn't the end all be all, it has some caveats.
My lense doc said some thing like "sucks to fucking suck, you hit the slots and lost" when I asked him if I can fix mine with lasick and he said no.

did you have chicken pox as a kid or earlier in life?

oh i know. a friend of mine has a degenerative condition and she is guaranteed to go blind later in life. I know there's a chance this isn't going to magically make things better but the appointment I have is already there as a check up. asking about it ain't going to hurt.

Yup. got the scars to prove it. when I had shingles in my eye I could see the nerves firing when I closed my eye. like the actual electricity from my brain. it was kind of a purple-blue color.
