Year End Recap · 11:50pm Dec 31st, 2024
So, the end of the year jumped on me. The family and I have spent the last two weeks sick, so it feels like the last half of the month flew by.
This year has been a transformative year for me, in many great ways. My parents and I moved in the summer and our financial security is assured for now, which is a MASSIVE relief off my shoulders. Being 35 and unemployed (formerly employed but underpaid) while living with parents who are getting on in years, and trying to pay off debts while having barely enough income to cover payments...it was a constant source of anxiety and stress.
Now, my income and living situation and much improved and stable. For the first time in a long while, I feel optimistic about the future. It'll still take time to get out of debt, but I'll make it. And if the worst should happen with my parents, I at least know I'll still have a roof over my head.
Now on to business. The first half of the year, my time was taken up by Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and FF16's DLC. Then we got to June and our move and new job. And in that time I put my nose to the grindstone to finish Final Fantasy VI Reimagined in time for October. That got me to November, when I unexpectedly got into Hitman. And now here we are at the end of December. Point is, I've been busy in a good way.
I wanted to finish Dreams Horizon this year, but that didn't happen. However, the finale is planned out and is my #1 priority next year. I want to end this story in February. I say again, this will be my final fanfiction, then I retire. I'm not going to half-ass this, I want to go out strong. And I'll have a very lengthy author's note retrospective when it's time. I thank everyone for their patience and support, I've let my schedule slip but the wait will soon be over.
I'll see you all in the new year. Cheers to it being a great one.
Didn't know this was your final fanfic, must have missed it, though I can't say I'm too surprised, based on your recent blogs and comparative lac of activity here. That said, I have really enjoyed reading Dreams' Horizon over the years you've been working on it. Can't wait to see it finally end, and wish you all the best with the future.
Glad things are working out for you! I am awaiting the end of the dream.
