I have another reason to hate 2010 Nintendo now... the long lost beta of paper mario sticker star was discovered for the E3 2010 today... AN IT ACTUALLY LOOKS GOOD?! Check it out for yourself here, Cas I can't believe how this was before Nintendo got to meddling with the developers!

I think the 3DS and Wiiu era (2010) was weird or a bad time for the Mario franchise, I'm one of the few who liked this game, but... This looks much better than the final game

By decision of Intelligent Systems, there were comments from Miyamoto regarding Sticker Star about the story, the characters and that it was similar to TTYD, but Intelligent Systems itself did a survey of players about what mattered most to them in the Paper Mario games and the majority chose the gameplay, and the story was the least voted aspect.

Paper Mario's drastic change was more the fault of Intelligent Systems than Nintendo, mainly for taking the changes they asked it to make too seriously🤷.

Color splash was...mid. The writing was definitely better then sticker star, but everything else was a slag to get through. I didn't go back to play it after I beat it. But, that IS something I can say about color splash. I actually finished it. Didn't even bother finish sticker star Cas it was so bad. It's Basically the pokemon brilliant Dimond and shining pearl AND the Sonic boom: rise of lyric of the mario series. All and all, Color splash was ok, but could have been a lot better.

Origami king on the other hand, oh now THAT was a upgrade! The gameplay can be a bit repetitive at times, but the story was great, the characters, while not completely original, were different enough that it wasn't just the same color pallet of toad. Plus, they gave Bowser lines AND character again! You know how FURIOUS I was when I saw bowser NOT TALKING! *sniff* I was actually hurt when he didn't show any funny banter. So yeah, Origami king was definitely a great experience, and I hope the next game lives up to the reputation of the first three paper marios.

Sorry for basically making a review of this question.

Nothing happens and I hope the same, taking into account that they made a Remake of The Thousand Year Door, they should already know what this saga needs.
I think it would be nice if they combined the best of both trilogies for the next games
