Tomorrow is my birthday, and I turn 36. I keep trying to wrap my head around my age only to give up. I thought I'd "feel" like an adult by now, but every day I still feel like I'm just figuring it out. Is this how my parents felt? Or did they just trick themselves into thinking they had all the answers? Previous generations certainly presented themselves as capable adults, at any rate. Maybe it's just that these days we want authenticity and there are more honest discussions about mental health and all that.
Anyway, I posted a new story today! I didn't think I'd do that today, but I wanted to get this out of the way so I can stop fussing about it. It's a sequel to Sincerely, Starlight. Would you mind giving it a read? These little idiots are so lovable, they'll make you smile.
This is a bit of a lazy post. I'd mentioned before that I would have done a big write-up of my experience at Ponyville Ciderfest this year, but I still don't feel like doing that. I'll share a few of the things I was excited to grab (though we grabbed quite a few amazing things.) Click for a bigger view!
From left to right: I finally got the Nightmare Rarity pin from Sophie Scruggs! This thing is gorgeous. I got a bunch of other pins too, I'll post a pic of my backpack below. Next, I got this Zipp mug from My Little Ties. The back features her cutie mark. This is one of my favorite vendors. I also bought two metal cups with Rarity and Applejack's cutie mark on them. They're a smash hit with my family. Everyone is always trying to use them, heh. Next is the Rarity canvas tote. I LOVED this idea, and I thought it was really cute. Sadly, I've forgotten who I bought this from. Lastly, I got a really awesome Rainbow Dash jacket from WaffleWishes. I don't think he's selling this anymore, so I'm glad I grabbed one!
Everything pony on my backpack came from the con. I was very excited about the Sunset Shimmer pin I nabbed. (also from Sophie Scruggs)
Anyway...I hope everyone is doing well. I'm not doing anything super special on my birthday. The older you get, the less fanfare these things bring. If I can have a day to just relax and enjoy cake, I'll take it.
Oh, and I'll add a note to my previous blog, but I've stopped taking fic requests. I'm still working on the queue. I have a complete draft for one of the stories. Three more to go!
I want to go to a con so bad. But I can't. (As mentioned elsewhere, broke af. Littleshy's convention blogs will have to do for now). Love the Nightmare Rarity! Also cool mug!
Also, as for the backpack: Love the Sunset pin, and I also see a Littleshy pin (fittingly right above a Derpy pin)
Happy early birthday!

Thank you very much! And don't worry, I'm sure you'll be able to go someday. I don't get to go to things like this often either. It had been about five years since the last time I attended one.
Happy birthday!

Thank you very much!
Happy Birthday
Not to get all political, but the enormous increase in cost of living VS the stagnancy of the average middle North American’s annual income probably has a lot to do with not feeling like an adult. It’s hard to have time to truly feel like an adult when you’re so busy trying to squeeze one last day out of the ketchup bottle to save a couple bucks until payday.
I don’t think you should feel ashamed about it, previous generations didn’t have a nearly 40 trillion dollar national debt, a pipeline of unlimited tax money being sent to a dozen foreign nations and nation wide outsourcing of labour to foreign nations to worry about.
Keep your head up! You’re surrounded by loved ones, and that’s something they can’t ever take away from you

Amen. Thank you so much! I'll keep at it, don't you worry.
Aww happy birthday! Glad you had so much fun at the fest, that nightmare rarity pin is awesome
