Happy Misgiving, everypony!

Source

One of the guys who I used to work with at the group homes conflated Thanksgiving and Christmas into a single holiday (or single holiday season) called "Misgiving," which I suppose is appropriate enough. It can be stressful, but remember the reason for the season: to eat enough food to go into a food coma and then camp out in front of Best Buy in the hopes of picking up a flat-screen TV super cheap.

Okay, maybe that's not the purpose of the holiday.

Used to be a Michigan tradition to watch the Lions play the Packers on Thanksgiving, but now the NFL's changed things around so that they don't play the Packers on Thanksgiving any more. Way to ruin things for us, NFL. Also speaking of (American) football changes, somehow the Lions are actually good right now which is really weird.

Anyway, y'all have a happy Thanksgiving for all my American friends! For my Canadian friends, happy belated Thanksgiving!

For everyone else, happy Thursday!

I don’t celebrate thanksgiving because in Germany it isn't really a thing. Even though I’m half American, I don’t want to buy a turkey.

I will not be watching American football either.

I'll wish people happy Second Thanksgiving.

Hope your turkey day is lovely. And appreciate the belated well wishes too n_n

Thanks.

Always found it interesting myself that while Canadians do celebrate Thanksgiving, it's on a different day for them.

Hey, thanks, buddy! Happy Thanksgiving to you too!

If the Lions are good, I don't expect to see them playing. The NFL only ever makes the worst teams in the league play on Thanksgiving. I swear, the teams get more yards from the other team's penalties than they do from running or passing.

Edit: I just looked it up. Turns out the Packers ARE playing tonight! They're playing the Dolphins. Additionally, the Lions are playing as I'm editing this comment. They're facing the Bears.

If you're planning on getting any electronics, this is the Black Friday to do it before Trump tax sends the semiconductor market to Tartarus, even worse than the pandemic, coupled with the surge in cryptobro scalpers, did a couple years back.

Biden pushed for opening chip fabrication plants in the US. You can bet the swine who voted against it will take credit if it succeeds.

With sales and promotions, I put together a nice AM5 build, though I'm skipping a standalone GPU, since I use the machine it's replacing mostly for business.

I got it all for $200 less than pcpartpicker's pricelists.

Courtesy of a Bears fan, congrats on the W today! Despite the mountain of evidence to the contrary, I honestly thought we might just sneak away with one for once… and then I was very, very painfully reminded that our QB is still a wishy-washy rookie and his coach is the NFL's current poster-child of game-managerial incompetence.

In any case, good game — now go get Eberflus fired for us and keep the Packers from taking the division!

They wanted to be polite and not confuse the neighbors.

Happy Misgiving, Biscuit!

Being from Wisconsin, I will always be a Packers fan. That being said, I am giving the Lions as much support and good vibes as I can. If my Pack can't make it, I hope the Lions do! Anyone but the Vikings.

Thanks for the reminder. It’s not electronics, but I’m planning on ordering something pricey and imported. It was supposed to be for my birthday in late January, but maybe I’ll get it early

I work in IT and we're already trying to cram as much of our purchasing into the next ~2 months as legally possible. Public sector, so we can't just willy nilly money around like a corporate entity might in a pinch.

Weeeee

The North Sea Empire will rise again, with it's capitol in Duluth.

(I don't really care about football, but most of my family went to St. Olaf)

While I LUV Thanksgiving, I'm especially looking forward to celebrating Festivus! I already have a sturdy steel pole picked out, and I most definitely plan to win the Feats Of Strength® this year...AGAIN!

If my car parts came with a pony mechanic, I take up car repair too. :rainbowderp:

Happy harvest celebration day. ^_^
