now that things have calmed down a bit after midterms, I'm finally thinking fractures/project emphenom a bit again

more specifically, the mapping of lisa and zoey to their ponified forms.

i think it'd make things interesting if Lisa physically resembled an earth pony version of Twilight 🤔🤔🤔

and Zoey of course gets mapped to Gadget.

and yes, the fact that Lisa is mapped to a different Twilight implies that the Twilight + Gadget pairing within Equestria itself may in fact be canon as well, meaning we've got a chance for the counterparts to meet :3

on another note, oh boy it's time to put in some work on mappings! If I want to have Fractures here on Fimfiction serve as the middle stage between Project Emphenom and some eventual original fiction, then I'm gonna ideally want to work on mapping out connections between more than just characters from the original fiction into pony equivalents.

Most importantly: lore. This is absolutely, 100% a heavily AU version of Equestria by necessity. There's no way around it if I want the opening event - the Fracturing Event to even happen in the first place. Somehow, Equestria must be effectively torn to shreds, bleeding from a hard-fought civil war of ascension that ended its internal power struggle with what amounted more or less to magical nukes. And it's those very bombs that would map to the "strange bomb" I have in my plans as the very thing that punches a hole through reality in the first place.

Looks like I've got some more ideas to try out first in Project Emphenom experimental chapters first before I move forward with Fractures. Rather than character studies, these may very well be more ramble-y bits focusing in on the setting and lore. We'll see.
