Here we are. Again. · 12:37am Nov 7th, 2024
I didn't really want my comeback blog post to be about the election. And for the most part, it won't be, but to say I'm feeling chipper or optimistic would be a lie. I feel like crap. I've cried a lot today. I feel pain in my heart for my little three-year-old girl. I feel like our generation, I feel like I've failed her. The repercussions of this election will be felt for (literally) decades. But I hope the recent update to Her Collar, Her Love offered some comfort to people, however brief. Originally I wanted this post to be a big recap of my experience at Ponyville Ciderfest and also to chat about my stories. I don't really feel like doing that right now.
I'd like to try and do something to help folks. I know this is a shitty time for a lot of people. Hopefully, this image works, otherwise, I'll find hosting for it:
If you're having a hard time right now and you don't have anyone you can talk to when you really need it, please try the above numbers. The great thing about these services is that they won't call the cops on you if you're really in an emotional crisis. This is a small thing we can do, but sharing the above information is really good. Being there for people and being kind is of course, very helpful too, but I know a lot of us are busy or aren't in a good space to support someone else. (and that's okay!)
The only other thing I can think to do to try and help right now is to share more stories to liven people's lives. So. I'm thinking of some short one-shots I can try and write to cheer people up. Sequels to my RariTwi and StarBurst fics. A friend requested a silly Discord EQG fic that I'll do my best to write. And someone else asked for a humanized kinky Cheerilee/Fleur fic a while ago. I can try and do my best for these things.
I'm accepting fic requests: I'm not superhuman, and I do have my own family and tasks to take care of, so I can't promise that I'll get to all the requests or even have a quick turn around...but if anyone would like to request a fic from me, please send me a PM or leave a message here. I'll preface this by asking that you keep your requests fairly simple and something that could be wrapped up in about 1-3k words. I'm open to mature and sexual fic ideas, but I'm not doing anything that contains grim dark ideas, foalcon, noncon, or weird crossover fics. Please keep it in the MLP universe (G4 and G5) and the stories must have a happy ending. If I get swamped by requests somehow, I'll have to cut it off at some point. I reserve the right to refuse any request I feel isn't a good fit for me.
I hope everyone is hanging in there. Take it day by day and remember that people love you, and you matter. If you need someone to talk to, please, please, please reach out to me. I am open to talking to anyone and making new friends, so don't be shy.
Take care of yourselves, everybody.
Darlin' I wish I could be happier to see your return. Yet today has me so down, I just spent the last hour and a half talking my cousin out of doing something drastic (I wouldn't say what). For all intended reasons, the future ain't lookin' all that good. I'm currently trying to SAFETY disassociate from reality (a.k.a.: playing The Sims 4 and trying to calm down).
Trust me, don't go worrying your mind off things, you're blessed with a child just go spend some extra time with her, chances are it will make you feel better. Things will be fine and good, don't be caught up in hysteria of apocalyptic levels, you'll see, things will be all well and good. This morning you breathed in fresh air, saw your baby girl, had food on the table, focus on that right now.

I understand. I watched MLP and Scooby Doo with my daughter this morning, then later played Stardew Valley with a friend. Whatever you gotta do to get through and keep it together is totally valid. I hope your cousin hangs in there. It's a tough time all around. š«

Yep, I'm trying to stay anchored in the moment. Me and baby girl had extra cuddle time watching cartoons today, which was nice. I'm going to take it one day at a time.

Good good, that's all we can do in the end. I have hope things are going better, family is something that will always keep you anchored. I feel sad that I have to say this, but since it has happened, don't let politics get in the way of family, family is family. God willing, the future will be something we both can smile at when it becomes the present. Oh, and side note, heard you play Stardew Valley, you ever try cooking some of those recipes? New cooking was what got me through lockdown, I hear the maple bars are great.

Yeah these are gonna be rough days ahead. Yet taking it one day at a time is all we can do now.

No, I haven't tried cooking! I was just telling my husband we should buy an extra copy for the Nintendo Switch and play co-op together. There were some big updates we missed, and we could use a new game to play together.

I would recommend it! I never thought whiskey sauce would sound good, but I was very wrong when I tried it with bread pudding. You might just find some new dishes that become family favorites. Important to treat yourselves, go ahead and get the extra copy, tune off the news and just focus on your own world because that is the core of an individual's life. Ones mood also affects those around them, I have learned that pleasantly and unpleasantly myself, so it's important to stay in good spirits.
It was rough to see the results of election day. Had to take a huge break from social media. Iām praying for the people in America, especially for all the lives who get affected the most.
I just cannot believe they put that terrible man in office, AGAIN.

Your prayers are absolutely needed and appreciated, thank you. And Omg, I feel this so much. I live here and I can't believe it either. š

Lol, I misunderstood and thought you were talking about some new feature in Stardew Valley. I don't like cooking all that much in real life, but I do it out of necessity for the family. I'll try to remember about whiskey sauce tho! That sounds interesting.

Oh well there is cooking in Stardew valley, I think so at least, you can learn recipes so I would be shocked if you couldn't cook in a game you can learn food recipes. If you do end up making something tasty with it, then yay, I did something! ^^
