    Truancy - Chapter 16.3 - Delayed

I bit off a little more than I should try to chew in one go. Usually, I have an outline consisting of three items for a chapter update.

    1. Pony does X
    2. Pony 1 talks with Pony 2
    3. Silly does a silly thing, etc.

It starts out that simply, and then my notes get crazy; but that seems to turn out manageable results.

Truancy - Chapter Sixteen - Slight Delay

Ugh. Yesterday was another instance where emailing my notes to my computer made the apostrophes and quotation marks completely disappear. This delayed a lot of things, and I got sleepy editing. I should be able to finish up after work today -evening time. Here's hoping.

    Truancy - Chapter 15.2 - Extended Author's Notes

    1. An anonymous letter may or may not be on its way to request that the Ministry of Transportation make better names for their trains and railways. Then again, I am providing the names translated into human language; so, it is possible that a need to do so is not recognized and justification may be lost in the translation. Truancy - Chapter Fifteen - Extended Author's Notes

Two weeks ago, my entire stack of notes for this chapter looked like this:

Ch. 15? 002 Summer. Colt wakes up - in apartment, before train, on train, or after trip? Skip trip?

Truancy - Chapter Fourteen - Extended Author's Notes

My Granny Smith, who has grown beyond the use of a verbal filter, might be the most appropriate justification for an M rating for this story. I could have sworn that I had another cutaway with some of her recollections of her stallion, but for the life of me I could not find it. Additionally, I don't think 'passionations' is a word, but she wouldn't have it when I asked.

Truancy - Chapter 15.2 - Extended Author's Notes · 8:00am October 11th

1. An anonymous letter may or may not be on its way to request that the Ministry of Transportation make better names for their trains and railways. Then again, I am providing the names translated into human language; so, it is possible that a need to do so is not recognized and justification may be lost in the translation. Train lines, such as the Friendship Express, the train that specifically buses only from Ponyville to Canterlot and back or wherever the Princess of Friendship orders it to go, has not been made yet. Perhaps some names more in line with Harmony over function of location could be determined.

2. I found a big piece of jet stone on the beach once. It's a strange type of black stone between the states of coal and diamond.

3. I had to roll some dice on another foal encounter. I wanted a background pony who could be around Big Mac's age. Came up with four: Cherry Berry (relation to Berry Punch, traveler / balloonist), Shoeshine (farrier, possible iron smith and association to Ponyville Spa), Candy Mane (relation to Twist and connections to confectioners Bon Bon and Chiffon Swirl), and Amethyst Star / Sparkler (unicorn connected to Canterlot and Ivory Scrolls of Ponyville, possibly later herded with Ditzy Do/Derpy Hooves who's the dam of Dinky). And I had no clear idea who to pick, because any of them could all be fun variables down the line.

4. Some Equish: partially to show how easy it would be for a foal to have trouble learning names like Amethyst Star or Twilight Sparkle. It also shows I spend more time on these things than a person probably should.
A. Sound, 'Jz,' ought to make an elongated soft 'j' sound akin to the French 'j' as in Je, the French first-person pronoun.
B. Sound, 'W,' ought to make a hard 'oh' sound akin to the Greek 'omega' which when written in lower case is a 'w.'
C. Parts of Speech, 'Ti,' is one of the particles indicating a pony's status as either royal, a sovereign individual capable of ascension, or one possessing something precious like a soul. An 'i' making a long 'ee' sound added to the end of a name can also indicate this. 'Li' is a word also added to the end of a word denoting a precious nature and is also the word for 'jewel.'
D. Some Vocabulary:
Pony - poe-li (pronounced 'poh'+'eh'+'lee,' can mean 'precious pone' or 'equine jewel')
Night - jzuel (almost sounds like the word 'jewel')
Luna - Jzunw-ti
Lulu - Jzu-li
Day - sol or nis
Celestia - Sol-ti
Celly - Ni-li
Tia - Si-li
Twilight - jzuni or Jzuni-i (after her ascension: Jzuni-ti, sounds almost like 'jz' + 'unity')
Amethyst - Jzueh-li (a jewel of the night)
Sparkle - sol-li (can also mean: a jewel with light)
Star - jzusol-li (a nightly jewel with light or a light in the darkness)
Sparkler - sulhi (can sounds like 'sull' + 'he' or 'sully' when spoken quickly)
Sparky - jsurl-li (sounds like 'shoo'+'lee' or 'Shirley' when spoken quickly) :raritywink:

5. The Filly Who Forgot to Take a Bath is just a silly foals' story. It's format is that of a single Shakespearean sonnet: 14x lines of 10x syllables, 3x quatrains, with 1x concluding couplet. I wrote it in between tasks at work yesterday. Only after finishing did I realize that I did not focus on a friendship-related subject, and there is not exactly enough space to introduce and resolve multiple things within a single sonnet. Whoops.

6. There was a question / comment about certain bodily functions recently. I definitely spent way too much time in the planning phases of this story, because I had an answer. I wasn't sure about going into that much detail for the narrative, but I can be convinced of things. Happens often, actually. I can see how answering this would enhance some of the background of the country's overall mindset and setting; it could also give some insight into the reactions of the two ponies who are enacting those functions in recent chapters but also the other ponies who are somehow learning of those proclivities. Mass communications are also limited to newspapers and books which are regulated by the Ministry (Department) of Equestrian Culture. The purpose of this branch of the government is not to censor but to promote the ideals of Harmony in literature. While all negatives are unavoidable, things that would cause negativity en masse -like nightmare inducing horror stories or excessively detailed news articles- would be curbed in the editing process without discouraging creativity or truth. This is important because widespread negative emotions have caused actual disasters in the past -i.e. Windigos- and Luna is not currently available in the timeline to help with bad dreams.

The issue of male fertility and performance is also taken very seriously and considered important enough to strongly discourage certain topics from the country's collective memory and discourse that could affect the species' survivability. The princess is very frugal with the MEC's authority and hoof-picks those employees.

All of this is to say, there is a reason why stallions are generally unaware of the maregasm, because the general stallion population cannot last long enough; and it would be detrimental to male performance if their inability were well-known. Mares are legally bound to withhold the existence of this bodily function in mares unless the stallion is able to bring her to that state; she is then allowed to explain his achievement, and he cannot speak of it outside his own herdsmares. If it was known that Kevin put this in his book, he would be prosecuted.
