Someone asked me the other day why SciTwi’s nickname in Homecoming is Sunshine. In story, it was given to her by her grandmother, but both in story and out of story, it was really simple:
you are my Sunshine/my only Sunshine/you make me happy/when skies are gray…
So here we have it. For eight years now, her nickname was because of a children’s song. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I mean, she is the light of Sunset's life, so that makes perfect sense.
Ngl, I prefer it more over Sci Twi, which I still like but having her nickname be Sunshine kinda shows how much she loves Sunset seeing the nickname she gives her is Sunny.
Works for me. Twi probably calls her wife Sunnybutt when no one is looking anyhow. For obvious reasons.
TBH, I thought it was based on the "Sunshine, sunshine, ladybugs Awake" lullaby that Cadence and Twi sing whenever they see each other.
