Finding a Middle Ground Episode 9: My Opinion On Culture Wars/Anti Consumer · 7:33pm October 2nd
In all honesty the culture war/ anti consumer is pretty much the same thing. They come off as these whiney children that expect gaming comping to tailor the game in exactly the way they want. Further more those that whine about anti consumer are whiney too and have zero idea of how business works. It sounds to me that anti consumer just sounds inconviences to them. I am old school and back in my day whenever we had problems with our Game Boy Advances we would fix it ourselves. I do not think people understand that the decisions that companies make is not really anti consumer at all. In fact instead of whining about it, why don’t you instead make your own company to compete against these corpos. If you don’t do these so called anti consumer practices that you think are anti consumer, I think you will be in for a shock when you find yourself stuck in a rock and a hard place. I think the real reason behind those complaining about anti consumer is the fact that most people do not want to make sacrifices for other people. The same can be said for the culture wars. In my honest opinion it is idiotic, I am sorry that the game does not share your view but that is just life sometimes. We are not always going to agree on everything and it would be weird if we did. Not only that but just because some rando who works on the game says something online, it still is not an attack on you because many people worked on the game and they are not some sort of hive mind like everyone wants to believe. It is not an attack on you no matter how hard you try to spin it and I do not wanna hear “well I paid for the game, the company has to meet my expectations.” Well I am sorry to say but the world does not revolve around you and a lot of the times people’s expectations are way too high, it was not the companies fault that the game was overhyped but the doing of your own making. I encourage anyone who cries culture wars or anti consumer to create their own company. I can safely say that not only would it be a great learning experience but I wouldn’t be surprised if you change your tune after working for a while. What irks me is that some of these gamers expect to be treated like royalty. The same people who cry anti consumer/ culture wars are also the same people who don’t want to hear another persons opinion and shuts them out.
The culture war is also called class warfare. It boils down to the rich and the powerful want more, and they're willing to use their money and influence to achieve it, often at the expense of the laborer class, and minorities(ethnic, religious and/or sexual).

Huh, I guess that you learn something new everyday. I always felt that these people came off as privileged.
