We shouldn’t blame others for things we do not like. There is no shame in just not liking something.

Finding a Middle Ground Episode 12: Panic Buying

For those who live in areas that have natural disasters, whatever you do, please do not panic buy. The reason for that is because we need to make sure that those who really need it can get the resources that they really need. If it is your natural disaster season in your area just buy one of each item and treat each day as if disastrous weather might be coming. In other words, don’t panic buy,

Finding a Middle Ground Episode 11: Yes, Eastern Fans can be Jerks Too

I feel that when those on the right say that toxic fans are only a western problem, it is major gaslighting. Eastern toxic people are what you might what you would call two-faced. They are fake nice. If you can read or speak Japanese you might be familiar with the word “oshi.” I could be wrong but that is the word for toxic Japanese fandoms. When the mask is off the Eastern fans can either be

Finding a Middle Ground Episode 10: Why Representation Matters and Other News

Today I have stumbled upon a certain users complaint claiming that the show runners of Dragon Ball are spitting on the creators grave. To me, in my opinion it sounds like two sides of the same story. Now don’t get me wrong Dragon Ball fans are indeed toxic and the creators himself have done things in his life that have indeed enraged fans such as adding new forms for Goku that fans did not like

Finding a Middle Ground Episode 9: My Opinion On Culture Wars/Anti Consumer

In all honesty the culture war/ anti consumer is pretty much the same thing. They come off as these whiney children that expect gaming comping to tailor the game in exactly the way they want. Further more those that whine about anti consumer are whiney too and have zero idea of how business works. It sounds to me that anti consumer just sounds inconviences to them. I am old school and back in my

Finding a Middle Ground Episode 8: Growing up With Audience

A lot of people seem to think that growing up with the audiences means that the show needs to be darker and edgiest. I do not think that should be the case especially when the franchise was childish to begin with. To me growing up with the audience does not mean throwing away the childish wonder of the game but instead being more mature and addressing more mature topics in a way that we all

Finding a Middle Ground Episode 7: Problem or Crying Wolf? · 2:36pm October 1st

As you may already be aware, there are certain gammers on this website that like to cry wolf quite often. It sometimes feels like one of those moments, if you know what I mean. With the latest controversy, the one with the PS5 update where people are claiming that the game library is showing ads for games they already have. It feels like a crying wolf moment. I updated and checked there were no ads in the gaming library. What the gaming library does do is keep track of all the games that you already have and shows you how much data storage you have left. Which brings to why I am skeptical of the latest controversy. It also feels like gammers are crying wolf again. While you are also not allowed to plagiarize characters, what I think a lot do not understand is that you are also not allowed to plagiarize gaming mechanic and I feel that Nintendo has every right to be upset with Pal World if that indeed turns out to be the case. The reason why I am not upset like everyone else is because I feel that Nintendo saw the Lion King is copying Kimba controversy and actually understands that many franchises share similar ideas. I feel that is why they are suing because of similar mechanics and not for copying characters. I think we should be slow to anger and wait until more evidence comes out when the court date begins. Nintendo does indeed have problems and I think the company is way better than most but we sometimes need to put our hate aside and look at the facts.

Crying Wolf refers to the fairy tale The boy who cried wolf. He cried wolf so many times and the villagers got tired of it because there was never any wolf and the time there was actually a wolf, the villagers didn’t believe him. I think I understand the idiom just fine if that is what you mean and I think gammers have the tendency to cry wolf a lot.

Why do you think people/companies should be sued over game mechanics?

As I said if Pal World is indeed plagiarizing the mechanics of Pokemon, I think that is something to consider. I have played games where mechanics are similar to Pokemon but it was never an exact copy. That is the claim the Nintendo is trying to make. I think that is something to be concerned about if that is true.

Did you play Pal World?

I have heard of it but as I also said, I am a bit skeptical when people have claimed that Nintendo was being unfair to Pal World because of greed. However I am very skeptical because of the recent lie gammers made that the new update for the PS5 shows ads in the Gaming Library for games you already have. Pal did advertise itself as being like Pokemon but with guns so I think Nintendo my have some standing in there.

It still doesn't fit this context, tbh. Also, "people complain about ads, but I don't have ads, therefore people are wrong" is, as far as proving something goes, even below "it was revealed to me in a dream".

I guess you may be right that it was revealed to me in a dream seems to be more accurate than crying wolf. In the end of the day, they still lied.
