R.I.P. James Earl Jones · 10:16pm September 9th
It looks like 2024 is working overtime now to make up for the lack of high profile deaths we had at the beginning of the year. Because now it has come to lite that James Earl Jones, the iconic voice of Darth Vader and the voice of Mufasa died today at the age of 93.
In additon to his two most iconic roles, James Earl Jones starred in films such as Dr. Strangelove: Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love The Bomb, Field of Dreams, Sandlot, and The Hunt for Red October. And he was also a profound stage actor, making his Broadway debut in 1958.
There are no words to describe his legacy. It is one that will never be topped.
James Earl Jones was truly a legend.
Aside from having an unforgettable and magnificent voice, Jones was perhaps one of the best African-American actors around. Whether animated or live-action, he had the ability to instantly command the screen even after just a few seconds, and he turned every moment he was given into something that’s worthy of admiration.
I’ll miss him dearly.
May his soul rest in peace.
He is one of the best I always remember his role as Mufasa and Darth Vader may he rest in peace 🙏 😔

Eeyup.
The Force will be with you, always, Mr. Jones. He really brought Mufasa and Vader to life with his iconic voice. He was an icon among icons; one of my biggest regrets was not going to any conventions to see him.
5803277 Same here. And it's the same feeling I have with so many other departed pop culture icons over the past few years: Adam West, Stan Lee, Kevin Conroy, Jason David Frank, and now James Earl Jones.
What a legend. RIP
May he rest in peace, his legacy never forgotten

Did you know he actually was in MLP in the 80's as the voice of Lavan in the old show?
Also, it is truly sad he passed away, yet his legacy is truly one of the all time greats and will never be outclassed as he was such an amazing actor and a cool person. May he rest in peace!
He is now truly with the Great Kings of the Past. Long live the king!
And now the famous SToryteller, the Fallout lore guy, died of Cancer too

I hear ya. Let’s just enjoy the icons we still have while we can. I’m glad I got to meet one of my favorite Godzilla actors a while back.
