Saved my friend money by convincing him not to go see Borderlands tonight, and instead wait for on-demand if his burning desire to see it hasn't waned by then.

So after the successes of Detective Pikachu and Sonic, it looks like laughably bad video game film adaptations are back on the menu!

Ouch. I feel sorry for Borderlands fans.
They were never off the menu. I hear the Monster Hunter movie sucked too.
I mean, there are also other good video game movies to watch besides those two like Uncharted for example.
Honestly, with the way this movie just suddenly got announced and premiered, that alone convinced me it wasn't going to be good. The Borderlands franchise has a whole hasn't had a new game in five years, and they only now announced a fourth one. Doesn't exactly strike me as a franchise that really needed more exposure.

And the third one wasn't even that good, or so I hear. I've played through BL1 once, BL2 three times, and have barely started Pre-Sequel.
In fact, I'll go so far as to say that the only reason Borderlands 2 was as successful as it was, was Jack, and I immediately knew that his character was going to be an insanely hard act to follow.
