Will be offline for a bit · 3:38am Aug 1st, 2024

Hey everypony. I'm sorry for being offline for a bit. We had a family tragedy on Monday and more bad news during that day. If you have pets, then you can guess what happened. Our family's big dog had a seizure of some kind at 5:30 am, and when she reared back and slammed into the floor, we knew something was wrong. I held her down, and she was still breathing but not responsive for the most part. We loaded her into my car and took her to our local emergency vet. I called them, and they were waiting for her when we drove up. They took her in the back and then, after ten minutes or so, called us into one of the rooms and told us what they had found with her. They had found that her gums were pale, and they realized she needed fluids. They placed an IV and then did several ultrasounds on her. They found out her belly was full of fluid, and when aspirated, they found out it was just a massive amount of blood. She had a huge tumor on her spleen that had pretty much taken over it. It had ruptured, and she could either be put under for surgery to remove it, or we could choose to let her go. We admitted that when we brought him there, we knew we would not bring her home with us. So we chose to put her down and then have her cremated humanely. My mom was not able to be there due to having had surgery on her foot a few days earlier. Later that afternoon, I got a call about my older little dog, who had been having some issues and had a mass in his bladder. We got it tested to see what it was, and they called me to tell me the results returned. It is an aggressive form of bladder cancer, and he has about 4-6 months left. So, my options for him are pretty limited, but I am not going to put him through chemo since it wouldn't lengthen his time for years, just a few months. So, I will be off and on over the next few weeks as I work through what I will do for him. I will try to post things but they might be sporadic I will be one now and then to check in. I'll be watching him to see when he stops acting like himself. When he's not feeling good, it will be time to let him go and join her and the others that had gone before him. Thanks guys!

Sorry for your loss and I hope things get better for you my friend. May your feathers glide on a gentle breeze. Take care of yourself.

This week, I swear, fml.
Caught stomach flu, got unpleasant test results - unknown changes in my liver and tissue irritation - suspicion of high risk of non alcoholic fatty liver. Damn I'm only 24 and not even obese. "Just" overweight. It's especially unpleasant to hear as I lost over 15kg in 2 years.

Sorry for your loss boss. No matter what a lot of people say, pets are part of the family and when they are gone it hurts the same.
Hang in there people because life seems to love shitting on us.

Real sorry to hear about your loss, I lost one of my dogs to cancer while another lost all feeling in his back legs so I know how it feels. Hang in there and take as much time as you need.

Eso es duro, fuerza amigo, tomate todo el tiempo del mundo, espero que puedas capear esta tormenta.
