Hello loyal readers. I've been going through some of the past comments and I've realized I've never fully explained my health problems. I've mentioned them sometimes in the author's notes but I guess I should explain them more. Here's the explanation.

Hello loyal readers. I've been going through some of the past comments and I've realized I've never fully explained my health problems. I've mentioned them sometimes in the author's notes but I guess I should explain them more. Here's the explanation.

I am a disabled veteran. Obviously I didn't start that way. When I was in my 5th year of service in the US army, I was hit by an SUV while I was walking because the driver was distracted while using her phone. As a result, the right side of my hip and femur were fractured and my small intestines were ruptured. I stupidly thought I was fine and stupidly decided not to go to the hospital. This happened around midnight or 1 AM and I took a nap. The morning of, a monday, I went to do PT with the rest of my company, platoon, squad. After the morning stretches and a few light workouts, we went on a run, where I made it 3/4 of a mile before my body decided I should stop. At that point, I was completely unable to move, kneeling/sitting on the side of the run path. I had fractured my hip, femur, and ruptured some intestines. Running had moved my femur from a clean fracture to slightly displacing it, which hurt a lot. Also, since my small intestines had ruptured, I was bleeding internally, a lot. Also, since it was my intestines that ruptured, I was slowly leaking bile into my body, making my body go septic.

Long story short, clinic visit and then hospital emergency room where I was rushed into surgery once I was scanned. 2 surgeries and a 1 day coma later, I woke up. Long story short, long and hard recovery because I wanted to stay in the army, despite the possibility/offer of me getting a medical discharge. I wanted to still serve and I had recently re-enlisted/renewed my contract for 4 more years and a new MOS, Cav Scouts. I really wanted to be a Cav Scout.

Unfortunately, the year after my accident, after i shot back to full physical health and ability, my bad luck decided to rear its head even further. During a routine scan to make sure I was healing fine, a tumor was found in my pelvis. There was no recovering from that. 3 surgeries and a lot of treatments later, I was medically discharged from the US army with full benefits. My tumor was removed but also 2/3 of my small intestine and some other organs. Now, I'm just going through life. I'm fighting to live 20 more years. So far, I got 3 down, going good so far. I'm still going through various treatments and I'm trying to take care of myself.

To my readers, I hope you enjoy my stories. I really want to finish my stories and possibly write sequels, however, its not a guarantee, because, well, health. I hope you understand my situation and I hope y'all continue to enjoy my writing, despite how bad/cringe it can get with me writing while I'm wasted/high on my meds (legal meds because cancer). More chapters coming up, enjoy! Like always, leave a comment, I enjoy reading them and I will respond if y'all want to engage with me. I quite enjoy responding to comments. If you have any criticism, I will respond/appreciate it. I don't take it personally and I see criticism as people trying to make me better.

That was some bad luck but I enjoy your story and hope you get better

It honestly doesn't help that they drill the whole "change your socks, drink some water, and walk it off. You're fine" attitude into us so hard. Sorry to hear about your run of bad luck, brother

I'm sorry to hear what you went through, I can't imagine how painful it must've been to go through that. I pray you live a good 20 years and enjoy the ride while it lasts. Love your stories and hope to see the ending of your stories.

I know I'm a bit late to the party but I do enjoy your story, quite a lot in fact, I do hope/pray that you don't keel over before it's your time. Well I guess it's up to the big man upstairs. I am Christian if you were wondering. And although you are not of my country military South African National Defense Force I still would say thank for your service.
