so i've given up on the notion of anything like a regular blog schedule! i'll just post these whenever i have news, as a sort of record for any horsewords-related activities i've been getting up to.
- i have no idea how i never announced it on the blog, but some time ago i got my first translation! Turbotune contacted me about doing a translation of Misconceptions and i was (and still am) very honored and thankful, because that was the first time i ever saw a translation of one of my works. it was released a year and a half ago (what? what is time?) on FiMTale!
- but as it turns out, that was NOT my first translation! someone had already translated Capgras, which i did not know about because nobody ever asked me or told me! so that was a fun surprise. again, the translation is on FiMTale!
for the past few months, we've been doing Exquisite Horse at the Café Hay Discord server, where a bunch of authors write a story chapter while only seeing the previous author's chapter. the first one came out a couple months ago:
the second Exquisite Horse was completed and published recently. and yes, it is still the product of a writing exercise rather than a fully coherent story, but damn, the quality of some of the sections really blew me away, particularly Rego's part near the end. i highly recommend it:
- and the third Exquisite Horse is currently ongoing! if you want to join in, feel free to join the Discord server here!
- i wrote a story called Survivors for the Tropical Post-Apocalyptic Story Contest and May Pairings and a secret third contest. however, i accidentally went over the May Pairings wordcount limit and had to withdraw it, and even the slightly larger limit for the Tropical Post-Apocalyptic Story Contest really did force me to cut out a lot of side arcs and elements. so i am going to work on the full-length, definitive edition of the story and release it as a longfic! but that means i am reluctant to push people to read this version because if i had to choose, i'd much rather them read the full edition once it comes out! so i am in a funny place with that one. i might write a longer blog about it later.
Hurray updates!
Many congratulations on the translations too.
