My childhood continues to get remastered. · 2:48am Aug 24th, 2023
Well, Gamescom 2023 is underway this week, and aside from Geoff Keighley getting stage-rushed again (seriously man, have those trolls clotheslined and hospitalized or this is all you'll be remembered for), we got some awesome remaster reveals today.
Truthfully, I never played Dark Forces. I played the crap out the 1997 sequel and the expansion, and I'm really kinda hoping that this means that's where Nightdive Studios are headed next. Seeing Jedi Knight and Mysteries of the Sith remastered would be amazing.
And the best FPS trilogy from the Nintendo 64 is finally getting its final entry on PC.
I hope newcomers are prepared for the cliffhanger that never got resolved because Acclaim Austin went under in 2004.
But damn, Nightdive. Hope you guys can keep up the great work. Keep remastering my childhood.
They should fully remake the Jedi Knight games because it would be so cool to see it in a new look

A fan is very slowly doing so in Unreal 5 (or 4, I honestly can't remember). He's done the first mission as of a year ago, a survival mode, and is working on the second level now.
Granted, at that pace, it'll never be finished, but it's a phenomenal proof-of-concept.

If memory serves someone tried making a VR version of the first one

I hadn't seen the finished demo, nice to see it making progress.
