Any interest in a print of PONY Legacy? · 4:00am May 30th, 2023
I've been kicking this idea around for a while and decided to actually pull the trigger on it.
I'd like to do a print of PONY Legacy. Unlike most Ponyfeather Publishing titles, this will be a limited run -- each book will be signed by me, hand-numbered, and made out to you specifically if you like. As a limited, personalized book, each copy will be $40 plus shipping. I'm also hoping it can include a soft enamel pin, because I love pins (more on that in a bit).
But, I need to know what the edition size should be. I genuinely have no idea how many people, if any, would like a copy of PONY Legacy on their shelf. 5? 10? 25? 50?

I haven't finished the interior layout yet, but I expect it to run to around 160-175 pages; it will include the story as well as my postscript author's note and an afterword based on my "Of Programs and Ponies" companion blog.

I mentioned a soft enamel pin earlier; if the edition size is at least 25, I will also include a 1.25" pin of Dash's identity disc with each book. Sort of a stretch goal, as it were; the economics of this only works out if enough people want a book. (If there's interest, pins will also be sold separately, in case people want a pin but not a book -- fill out the form if that's you too.) Here's a preview of that design:
If you want a copy of this but can't afford it right now, that's okay -- fill out the form anyway so I know the interest is there and I can set the edition size appropriately. I don't want people to miss out if they really want a copy but payday hasn't come yet.
I'm also happy to ship internationally; just know that international shipping can be kinda pricey (though hopefully not too bad for a single book).

I'm shooting to have it ready in time to offer it at the Twilight's Book Nook bookstore booth at Everfree Northwest this year, which means I'll need to lock in an edition size in the next week or two.

Can't afford it atm, but filled it out all the same! I think the story was excellent, especially as it scratched two ideas that I adore, so I know I'd be remiss to not indicate some sort of desire for a physical print; interested to see what comes of it regardless!

assuming there's more EU people that want this as well and the shipping is pretty much the same regardless of whether one or ten are shipped: I would not mind doing the thing where a lot of books get sent to one person and then I'll get mine (or give you yours) eventually at a convention/meetup we're both at (or worst case: reship it within the EU) because all the individual shipping + import tax is adding up to stupid amounts these days.
