There will be no chapter released this week.
That's not to say that there hasn't been any writing happening, and there may even be a true 'end' to this arc already written, along with an omake chapter of dubious canon already written. Funny thing, that. I 'said' that I was going to take some time off after releasing the chapter on Thursday. Y'know. Give myself some time to cool down. That said, all the comments and discussion on the most recent chapter really got me thinking, and inadvertently led to me tweaking my mental plan for the first chapter of the next arc.
Suddenly, next thing I know, it's Sunday I've already got a 6k word chapter written that I quite enjoy the way it turned out... but am I done yet? No, I get to discussing the idea of a gag chapter with Rehquis, and before I've even gone to bed for the night, I've gotten it all planned out. Not even twelve hours after that, I've successfully written the short gag chapter. I swear, I don't try to be dishonest about taking breaks; I want to take a break, but sometimes, you get a bug in your ear and you just gotta write until it's out.
So what's going to happen is that Entry 31 will release in one week at its usual time, and then the omake will follow the week after that. I hope that this way I can use it as an extra cushion to keep pressure off myself.
With that said, I've a question for those who read these blogs.
What sort of magic should Anon focus on learning next?
As it stands, almost everything she's created is some variation of spell to protect herself and those she cares about aggressively. Oh, and some catering tier 'Conjure Drinking Water' and 'Conjure Ice Ball'.
Still using rune magic though, right?
I'd look into ways to either help people out or looking for ways to make bits off it. Of course those options will of course open their own can of worms.
Discarding those ideas, maybe self reinforcement, internal enchantment, magic skeleton. of course that will also lead people to questioning what she's doing.
Or we could go into "practical applications of dark magic: a
cautionary talebeginners guide" and get out of runes altogether, who really knows? Personally as long as magic is explored in any way, I'll find it interesting, it's what you do with it that matters anyway, and what you want to do with it is largely determined on what story you want to tell, and I have no idea what's going to happen now that Anon is back. That said, self improvement, improving others or channeling dark emotions seems like places to start considering what happened.Dunno if there's an explanation for the empathy planned or not, but spellwork involving that in some way would be interesting. Not just for the explanation, but the emotional development.
Something like not wanting the stuffed animal to be a crutch because they don't have access to it at just any time or place, or not wanting to feel others' emotions all the time, or focusing it so they only sense the emotions of one chosen subject instead of everyone within a certain range. Whatever it happens to be, it doesn't go as planned; maybe it coincides with the addition of the psychiatrist, who helps them get back to a place of equilibrium so they can sort out what went awry.
Couldn't think of anything else because I either thought, "I've read that before," or, "that would be pretty typical/predictable," and while not inherently bad I'd personally rather experience something else, even if it's not what I suggested. I'm fine so long as it's fresh and/or interesting.

Yeah, still runes. I was thinking, like, transfiguration, abjuration, proper evocation, divination, illusion, emotional magic, more enchantment... Come to think of it, that would be useful if she can't figure out how to block out the emotions of others, and she needs to cast a spell on herself daily so she doesn't evolve into a full-on psychic.
Transfiguration sounds intriguing, but illusion has me curious.
Runic communicators? Like phones but *a little bit* simple
