State of the Scribe: May 2023 · 7:07am May 2nd, 2023

Hey pones, Happy Spring! Let's get the pone and word stuff out of the way before I go too long about real life and other things people probably don't care about. In fresh news, you'll see the name of a story some of you might remember at the end of the month's manifest. Your eyes do not deceive you, that's Hand of the Ancients, returning thanks to a generous reader helping sponsor it.

Normally I would wait until it was finished to post anything at all, but given it was on hiatus for years, I think I can make an exception. No telling how long it will keep going, and it might not update every month. But if it can eventually make it across the finish line, I would feel awesome. It deserves to get done.

This month also marks the end of the Indiegogo campaign I ran to publish Homebrew. That campaign is over now, though I was able to raise enough money to print some extra books. No new projects this month beyond those. I was hugely busy getting through finals, and that left me with scarce time for any adventures. I'll get into more detail after I go over the usual story list.

And now, for those who care, a little about what I've been up to.

Something feels surreal about putting this thing together. Maybe it's the fact that, when I first decided to strike out with my writing instead of working some awful student job, I saw education as something that would continue forever. Doing all that part time instead of focusing on it might've been the problem, I could have left a lot sooner than I did.

Still, the time has come. I've ended that chapter of my life for good, and I'm ready to begin something new. Still a little nervous about whta it means, but I'm ready to make it something incredible. Thanks so much to everyone who helped me get to this point, and made it all possible! I decided to use some zanier fonts to celebrate the occasion.

I'm sure we'll see some bing things coming down this calendar now that writing is my soul focus going forward. Lots of projects that were stewing in the background are ready to come to a boil and get out the door. I'm going on Vacation next month to celebrate, but don't worry, all the writing is already done, so there will be no missed days on the schedule. I'm not going to leave things unfinished.

I've finished 2 original novels this year, and I have a stack of other stories I'd like to get published as well. Now that I've graduated, my goal is to publish 6 books--for realsies publish, not fanfic. We'll see how that goes, but I'm optimistic. I'll share more next month, when I'm not moving and dealing with boring real life stuff.
