Update

I'd like to start by saying that I'm terribly sorry how slow I've been to get the new chapter for Changeling Theory out. I know there are lots of people still interested in reading it, and I'm very interested in finishing it, but life keeps getting in the way. On top of that, I've been going through serious episodes of writer's block that kill all of my motivation to write.

To the people who think the story is dead: no, it's not dead. I'm just slow.

Part of the reason is that this latest chapter will be the craziest one by far, and I've been having to take very cautious steps so as not to break the pacing. There's a big action scene I just finished writing that I need to go back to and make heavy edits to. A lot of exposition. A lot of the stress is also trying to figure out how to balance out the many characters, which in retrospect, it wasn't a great decision to have the story focus on so many characters because that makes writing it all the more difficult, but it can also be seen as a good test of skill. Also, as previously mentioned, little to no motivation.

But I'm starting to find that spark again, and after 11,000 words I think I'm finally at a good spot in the chapter to close things off. There are a few additional scenes I can add that will push the story forward, but I'm debating if I should hold off on the next chapter. If I include those scenes this chapter, it will be a crazy way to end things. If I put them next chapter, it may be a good character-building opportunity because I'd have to stretch the chapter out so that it holds its own weight without being too short.

This is an update saying that I'm finally getting back into the creative groove. Don't think this means Changeling Theory's updates will be consistent from here on out. Part of the struggle is I'm just trying to "adult," and it's very difficult for me to produce content when I'm going through periods of stress. Which have been very frequent recently.

Whatever the case, I'm working to fix my sleep schedule, and I'm now exercising consistently because it helps me focus.

Expect Changeling Theory's next chapter soon... ish? Over thirty pages have been written, but I still have to edit through it, then my editor has to do a read-through. I think I can fairly say, however, that it's some of my best work despite working on it so inconsistently.
