    New Hellish Horizons

"Relinquish yourself of the binds, and bring yourself forth,
Give in to the sorrow, and be reborn whole,
Curse all traitors for their breach of faith,
Forfeit lost hope, and become one with the Betrayed."

    The hellish adventure continues soon...

    "Sunset's Hellish Adventure" Announcement

It's been a gruelling 9 months between the release of the last chapter and now. Chapter 13 has been my most challenging piece to date, with me making dents but never seeming to go anywhere. I began wondering if I even had the capability to complete something as big as this. But now, I've done it.

    4 Years and the Future

Today now marks the four year anniversary of me creating my FiMFiction profile, and boy, what a time it has been. From the publish of the first chapter of "Growing Sun," to the release of chapter twelve of "Sunset's Hellish Adventure," (SHA further on) I think it's safe to say that I've put out quite a bit. But sometimes I wonder to myself how much longer I plan on doing it.

How in the ever-loving, Jiminy Christmas did this happen?

April 15th, 2018, a teenager moved on from the past that held him back, and decided he wanted to explore a new medium. Thus, he created a FiMFiction profile and wrote down whatever episodes came to mind, and 5 years later, he's still going.

It's nuts! 5 years of writing stories already! Half a decade! I'm reading this as I write and I still can't believe it.

I remember the day so clearly. As soon as I made the profile (and finally found to even create stories because the mobile site wasn't very clear on how to do that), I began work on my first story, finally being published by the admins 4 days later, and that would be my first project 'Growing Sun.'

I look back on that story frequently, and everytime I realise more that I had NO clue what I was doing. Soon enough, I reached a complete standstill and didn't know how to push through, resulting in that story being cancelled. Had I put the time in, something might have come from it. But I'm glad I cancelled it, because it led me to bring myself back and work up to a bigger project through gaining experience by writing smaller stories. Eventually, the time would come.

And that time would come soon. On July 4th, after 4 more smaller scale stories, I would publish the opening to my 6th story, 'As the Moon Rises,' and what would come of this would be my first true go at writing and dedicating my time to a larger scale project, and for the next year, this is what my sole focus would be. I think this story was pretty successful, but there was still an issue, I still wasn't sure what I was doing. Throughout the story, there were so many plot holes and just dumb decisions that, for me looking back, brought the story down significantly. But I'll give it one thing, the story saw to the end with 14 chapters and 46K words. For younger me, that was an insane length for a story, and it gave me experience with writing a long story, something that, eventually down the line, I would use to write an even bigger story!

But after I was finished with 'As the Moon Rises,' I decided to take a break and just work on smaller stuff for the time being. I was still in high school at the time and couldn't dedicate so much to something really big.

In fact, after I was done, things just slowed down for me altogether. I lost the spark that kept me writing even the smallest one-shots, and throughout a lot of 2020, it was pretty much radio silence from me.

But then came August 19th, 2020. I released the opening chapter to a new story, a new large in scale story much like 'As the Moon Rises.' I began 'Sunset's Hellish Adventure.'

This story has been an absolute ride to write. So many twists, turns and connecting threads! It is easily the greatest amount of dedication I've put into one project! And 2 years and 8 months later, I'm still writing it! Recently, I finally wrapped up production with the story's first volume, resulting in 15 chapters, 1 more than 'As the Moon Rises,' and 119K WORDS! Well over twice the length of 'As the Moon Rises!'

This is just 1 story of 3 that I have planned! Needless to say, thanks to this story, I'm not gonna be leaving for a long ass time! At this time, I've finished the story for Volume 2, and I'm continuously adding little tweaks to make it better. Production on that is starting very soon. And I have a story for Volume 3, I just still need to add all the inbetweens that lead the characters through their adventure.

Production for this story has been very rocky, but I'll pushing through to ensure that this story sees the end. This has been the thing that has helped me grow as a writer the most, bar none. Thanks to 'Sunset's Hellish Adventure,' I've come to learn what makes a story truly great, and I've come to appreciate the time that is dedicated to art. It's no easy feat, and it can't be rushed, which is why I'm taking my time to ensure this story comes out as perfect as can be.

As for other things? Well... there's plans for things, but I can't be sure on when they'll begin or even finish. And there's an idea I've been playing with recently and I'm seeing how big it can grow, but I'm not sure on if it is something worth the time for.

Right now, I stand at 29 stories. I know what I want to do for the 30th, but really, 'Sunset's Hellish Adventure' has taken so much of my time and effort already that its kinda hard to detach myself from it for a bit, y'know?

So, where am I 5 years later? Honestly, feeling pretty good. I don't think I ever imagined I'd still be going this far in the future, but now, I'm not sure where the end even is. I'm excited for the future. Mostly filled with SHA, but with the second arc finally on the horizon, it feels like a fresh new beginning, so yeah, looking forward to that!

And this is the moment where I thank my audience for dedicating their time to read my stuff, couldn't have gone on without you, yadda-yadda, you've heard it all before. But really, there's no better way to put it. A simple upvote or a small comment saying as little as even "good story" while throwing in a pony-moji like :trixieshiftright: or , it means the absolute world to me!

So yeah, thank you all! I'm not sure if anyone will even get this far down, let alone even read this blog, let alone even saw it. But I'm still saying it proudly cus I'm a happy bunny goddammit!

See you again for the 6 Year anniversary post where I throw in an extra 200 words for good measure! Peace out!
