The most controversial stance I have taken · 12:35am Mar 17th, 2023

I've talked a lot about my personal views, shared them with all of you, whoever is reading. When I first started writing on this site, I hadn't intended to create blogs at all. I believed that if I kept the attitude that this is a fanfiction website and people were here for fanfiction, I could get a more dedicated audience and keep a focus on writing.

Well, that didn't happen. The social aspect of FIMFiction.net seems to be an equal if not greater driving force for people using it. I'm not saying that's a good or bad thing, just one that is to be understood. Knowledge is power, and so understanding the facts, whatever they may be, allows you to proceed more clearly. I started blogging about whatever I felt like, same with writing. When I write anything and publish it here, it is with the knowledge that whatever I write may not be read by anyone. That's a fact and people, all artists should do their best to accept it, new writers here included.

Whenever you post something, it may not be viewed, received, liked, approved, appreciated or even seen by anyone. But fear not for you are in the company of all artists, all performers who thrive upon creating new ideas and feelings for us all. You may be performing before an empty theater... but the show must go on. A painting could be ruined before it is ever hung in any gallery, a song may go unfinished before recorded, or hours of fucking recorded video could be lost because your dumbass editor-in-chief decided to "wipe the computer clean" when it came time to "upgrade." So you must write and create and perform for yourself before anyone else. The show must go on.

Anyway, that's a bit off-topic so, now, I feel I need to disclose my most controversial opinion to you all. The one that might actually get me "canceled" or cause me to lose followers, subscribers, all of that. But this is the truth:

I put pineapple on pizza.

I don't just order it this way, I enjoy it. Not really bit on the ham, though. I order pepperoni and pineapple, usually. Or just extra cheese and pepperoni if I'm in the mood for cheese. Sometimes pepperoni and green pepper. No olives- they don't usually agree with me. But I enjoy pineapple on my pizza. Grilled pineapple, juicy and flavorful. It's delicious and refreshing, not usually too acidic. And I don't do stuffed crust; garlic-parm crust or just regular.

Recently, I witnessed in SWTOR a massive argument on the Imperial Fleet(a large space station where players gather) over pineapple on pizza. Now, if you play MMOs, you probably know what the main gathering areas are like. They are a place for players from around the world to join together for groups, buy, sell and trade items, show off rare gear and mounts, find out about events in the game and events around the globe. It's a place for intellectual discussion. Naturally, it's the most toxic place in the entire fucking game and it's where people say the most inflammatory, disgusting and inhuman shit they possibly can to get a rise out of each other or because they're bored. Or both.

Racism, every phobia you can imagine, blatant sexism, open calls for genocide, praise for the Chinese Communist Party, Neo-Nazism and other shit, it all goes down in these areas. And I believe in freedom of speech and expression, though I don't deny that some of it is pretty disgusting. But, I tolerate it, because this is the world we live in. These things aren't going to go away simply because we think they're bad. There is a time and a place for all this shit. The perfect place for genocide and racism is in a fictional, made-up world where it can't hurt any real people. So as long as it stays there, they can call for all the beheadings they want. No one will listen and nothing will happen. If they start making these statements on Facebook and then go buy a gun, maybe we should send a few cops over to talk with them and keep them away from public areas. If you see something, say something.

However, sometimes, the discussions of fascism vs. socialism vs. communism get really out of hand to the point people don't want to deal with it. To the point where people just don't want to see it, when it's so heated and toxic no one wants to deal with it. So... pineapple on pizza.

Super Mario Sunshine is better than Super Mario Galaxy.
The season finale of Better Call Saul could've been done better.
Solo: A Star Wars Story is a good movie. On the subject of Star Wars since Disney, The High Republic is alright and Episode 8 is the worst Star Wars movie. Possibly the worst movie of that year.
Resident Evil 4, the game, is still the best RE.
We needed a Dead Space 4, not a Dead Space Remake.
Starco was always going to happen and was the endgame in Star Vs. The Forces of Evil the entire time. Yes, it still pretty much ruined the show.
Stephen Universe was pretty mid after the first season and kind-of got too full of itself in the end.
Dean Koontz is a good author. That's why people buy his books and why they sell well.
Chuck Wendig is a terrible author and should take lessons on creative writing and basic writing structure.
Steven Spielberg is the reason why Stephen King is considered a master of horror. His books are more about weird shit and psychic stuff and trauma than they are scary. He likes writing about weird psychic stuff more than he likes writing horror.
Flatbread pizzas are a scam to use fewer ingredients and charge you even more.
There is no point for "brookies." You have a cookie, you have a brownie, they are completely different things with different tastes. You're just ruining a cookie by trying to make it into a fluffy square.
Rainbow Dash is best pony, Derpy is awesome and yes, pandering is a good thing because it means you're listening to your damn fans which apparently too fucking many have forgotten to do in this day and age.

These things are all opinions. If you notice a conversation going on that is pointless or should've ended, or is just too toxic for other people to function and is taking up too much space, derail it. It's like derailing a thread but in real life. The difference is, a lot of times in real life or when things are happening in real-time, we forget. So make it a topic that's easy to remember: pineapple on pizza.

The next time you see an argument that should just stop, remember: pineapple on pizza. It's delicious.

There are so few places left on the Internet where you can get into that level of argument without it being deleted and the participants silenced and banned. Everything has to be kept non-controversial to keep getting those ad bucks and preferred search results, and different places linked together so if you step out of line all of your accounts and presences are actioned instead of just one forum account.

My controversial stance is the Internet needs fewer "safe spaces" and less moderation, and also no social media.

Why did I read all of this! I don’t even have social media or participate in any of this controversy. But sure, if you like pineapple in pizza, enjoy! :pinkiehappy: :pinkiesick:

Dude, you scared me, I was just going around looking for controversial opinions and I saw what a large paragraph was here and... wow, you can like pineapple pizza if you want man.
