Staying Busy! New Stories and More · 4:27am Mar 3rd, 2023

Hello! And welcome to my new followers who found me from my latest story -- thank you so much and I hope you can take a look at some of my other work as well!

As you might have noticed, the biggest thing I've been up to here on Fimfic is a new story in my "Siblings" continuity, which began last August with What My Destiny is Telling Me. That story now has a follow-up, set about a month later, called Empty Rooms and Empty Feelings. Rarity might have helped her newfound sister move past some of her struggles with her notions of destiny, but there's still a lot of stress in Sunset's sudden shift from pony to human that is proving tough to process.

EEmpty Rooms and Empty Feelings
Sunset Shimmer has been human for six months. But as the unicorn mind within her struggles to accept her new form, she finds herself in a tough heart-to-heart with her adoptive human sibling, Rarity.

Check it out at the link above; I hope you enjoy it. I've dedicated this story to the late great Ninjadeadbeard, who was a prereader on Destiny and a phenomenal writer for Sunset and EqG. He will be missed dearly.

For Valentine's Day, I also added a surprise second chapter to my December SciSet story Her Warmth! Focusing on the morning after the initial chapter, this is another bit of fun shipping fluff, and if you enjoyed the first chapter or SciSet in general then I really hope you'll give it a read.

Twilight and Sunset are having a troubled night's sleep. Thankfully, they have each other to hold.

And since I haven't posted a blog since publishing this story, I'll also give a shout to my entry (and Honorable Mention) in the recent Flash Sentry contest, The First First Meeting, in which Wallflower Blush, just days removed from the Memory Stone incident, finds herself running into Flash, her neighbor at their apartment complex -- but Flash doesn't remember who she is. It's a short drama piece meditating on the idea of first impressions and what it would mean to truly "start over" with someone. Check it out below:

In addition to writing those (and some more shorts!), I've also been doing a good amount of proofreading/editing work! I finished catching up on retroactive edits for The Sleepless Beholder's Greek mythology fusion fic The Goddess of Empathy, and also proofread Sledge115's new Spectrum-verse prequel, Sogno di Volare. (If you're a fan of my The Final Conversation and other "young Sunset" stories, you should absolutely check this one out.)

I'm also still editing for Avery Day's excellent post-EqG1 drama Chromatic Aberration (another big recommendation for Sunset fans), and finished edits on her first story, the SciSet romantic drama Can You See What I See?. I also wrote a short interquel for the penultimate chapter, which Avery gave me the immense honor of declaring canon. If you're following me for EqG stuff, you should follow her as well. Like, go follow her, now.

What's next on the horizon?

In my last blog, I mentioned two multichapter stories. One of those, which was planned as an anthology set in the Siblings continuity, is one I'm breaking up into individual stories instead, with Empty Rooms and Empty Feelings being the first. The other, a longform SciSet story set partially in Equestria, is still very much a goal for me and one I hope to be deep into writing by the end of the month. Other shorter stories may come about naturally, and I want to have at least 2-3 more Siblings stories by the end of the year, but for now, my focus is very much on that longform.

Stay tuned, and thank you so much for following!
