Man it's been so long... · 4:44pm Feb 24th, 2023
Well, 3 months since I've been on here and to be honest I'm bored. Although it was stressful writing kept me occupied and now I'm struggling, I've done 15 plus 1000-2000 piece jigsaws in less than 3 months and tried other hobbies to fill the gap and nothing, nothing comes close to filling it. The issue I've had in the past is I'm a person very much affected by their surroundings and as I've gone on, the lack of traction and comments on my stories, plus negative criticism, has hit me way harder than it should. I need to go back to what I initially set out to do with my writing and that's write to help me relax, so likely I'll just write in bulk, dump a load of stuff down here and then it might be another month or two, another dump.
Anyway, where am I going next or rather back. I'm going to go over Scoti Alaw Prewett and re-write the whole thing. I'm talking a massive overhaul and likely cutting a lot of it out, whittling it down to what I originally set out to do rather than the mess it tuned out to be. A fic focused on the CMC during HP's time at Hogwarts. Oh, but there will be a fair few twists and turns along the way.
Finally, hope you all had a great Christmas, the New Year has been kind to you all and thanks for all your support. I've no idea when the first drop might be, it'll be after book one and possibly even two is done, which could be a long time in the future or a short time, who knows? For now, peace to all, Samuel.
Glad to having you back, hope christmas and new year was kind to you as well.
I must admitt, I am currious about these changes to your HP Crossover stories. While they are pretty good, at the end they took too much of a turn to the extrem (at least in my opinion).
I hope you don't rewrite the story right away. Everytime I see authors do rewrites it leads to a dead story simply because of the daunting task of rehashing something already done. Especially if there wasn't an ending yet.
With an ending at least your rewriting can be seen as editing for a more enjoyable read but without it it feels more like gutting your own work or mutilation in an attempt to look pretty.
Trust me on this, just pickup where you left off, narrow your focus again if you have to and work towards that ending so your start matches your end.

Thanks for your input and yeah, what you just stated is exactly what happened last time. Personally, I still don't know what's going to happen but I'm going to give it a real go. Unfortunately there is just to much I dislike with the original, which won't be removed, so this will almost be more like a restart the fic from the beginning, just using the original as source material.
take all the time you need to get back into the swing of things! Also in regards to a rewrite, if you DO do a rewrite id suggest leaving the origonal version up so those who want to can reread the OG version for fun
Glad to see you back wish you luck and hope you find your second wind and muse once more
