something that occurred to me while listening to the poetry of J.R.R. Tolkien's
Fall of Gil-galad
the fall of princess Luna

Luna was an Alicorn queen.
Of her, the harpers sadly sing.
the last whose realm was fair and free.
between the Mountains and the Sea..

Her sword was long, her lance was keen.
Her shining helm afar was seen;
the countless stars of heaven's field.
were mirrored in her silver mane.

But long ago she rode away,
and where she dwelleth none can say;
for into burning light fell her moon.
in Equestria where the sun rules.
