Prereads coming in for C&C part 32... · 4:07pm Feb 8th, 2023
3 out of 5 are in with a 4th in progress. And so far they’re quite positive, though I did end up having to excise an 800-word sequence towards the end when at least one prereader objected. I decided after sleeping on it that they were right and it was indeed over the line. That’s why writers need prereaders, folks—to save you from yourself.
I replaced the missing content with something more acceptable and (I hope) equally interesting. Be advised that the chapter will go borderline R-rated at the end, but I don’t think it’s enough to require a separate chapter for non-clop readers, as it’s a) not that long, and b) just teasing with no actual sex and only brief glimpses of anything explicit. As to why, it’s setting up a couple things, including a new ship (NOT involving Gilda or Marco!) and the M-rated opening of the next chapter after this.
Either due to my increased testosterone levels or simply because the story calls for it (to say nothing of the fact that they’re distracting the drones from their duties!), it’s time for Marco and Gilda to get back together and celebrate surviving. So the next chapter after this one will be M-rated (with a separate T-rated version) for not one but two scenes that bookend the important centerpiece sequence, which will be the confrontation between Tribune Cipio and Gilda.
I will not, however, be getting to that right away. First up after this will be a new chapter of Midnight Rising as I find I’m ready and eager to write clop again. Especially griffie clop, who I admit have become my favorite subjects of late. What can I say? I like the catbirbs, especially this version of them I’ve come up with.
No, that’s not fair. I have to give credit where credit is due—the version of them that DEL first came up with, and I then built upon. Thank you from the bottom of the my heart, DEL, for the all inspiration you gave me and many others writers with this wonderfully rich and inventive verse you made. Wherever you are and whatever happened to you, thanks again for the stories you bequeathed us and the legacy you leave behind.
Anyway, I’m officially saying that the new C&C chapter will launch on Thursday night. Be looking for it, and I’ll be looking forward to hearing what folks think of it. Until then, take care, and readers of Unleash the Magic can expect a new blog on that soon.
Maybe give us at least one more detail about what Luna,, Twilight, Cadance, Celestia and Derpy Hooves think about the situation.

Not possible because currently, in this continuity, their hive is still under the rule of Queen Chrysalis, who I plan to bring into the story later at least indirectly.
