January sucks, lol · 6:40am Jan 31st, 2023
January is a month. Shocking revelation, I know. It's quite possibly the worst month ever, and I'll explain why...
I have been ill, TWICE, since about the thirteenth of January. First was for a good week until the 20th, and I've now been ill since last Thursday, the 26th. Only five days in between weren't pure hell. Nice one!
Good thing the first part of The Expedition was uploaded a few days before then, because I've made practically no progress with the story since. I actually cut out about 95 words and am in the process of rewriting a better course of events. Not anything significant, anyway, and I like the second idea better.
So, how does one get ill twice in just over two weeks? Well, I walk, a lot. Like one-hundred to two-hundred miles a month of pure walking around my local area, and that's just the distance that the Samsung Health app records! I've been doing that since March of last year, and it kinda turned into a personal competition with myself.
In short, I love it. It's a good way to relax and get some daily exercise in, and the competition aspect always pushes the monthly goals further and further.
Problem is, I've still been doing this over winter. Despite my best attempts to wrap up warm (to the point my clothes are all sweaty by the time I get home, somehow) it hasn't stopped illness from being an ass. But hey, I still hit my walking goal this month so I'm happy!
January in the UK has been colder than December, I'm pretty freakin' sure of that, so I've only been going outside when it's necessary. Not even to work on my bright green Fiesta, which had a dead battery since about mid-November.
I'm sure one of the things that contributed to getting ill again was hauling a car battery two miles home in my backpack. I wanted to get my step goal that day, so it was worth it! And I saved money on getting it delivered too. The battery has been swapped and the Fiesta started first try, which was such a relief.
Just wanted to update you lot on the semi-limbo both I and THA have been in recently. Hell, it's half-six in the morning right now. I woke up at five because this second cold hasn't gone away yet. Its on the decline, should be gone by Thursday or something.
Gonna go write some more of the next chapter now!
