Thoughts on Princess Spike · 12:58am Jan 27th, 2023
This episode is one that I personally see as a better world-building episode than a Spike episode. I enjoyed seeing Spike's antics, but I felt as if there was a better episode with the Grand Equestria Pony Summit. There were so many ponies across the Equestria from places we rarely or never have seen before in Canterlot, and it would've been cool to know these places and the ponies that live there more. But instead, it kind of all gets derailed with Spike abusing his power of taking Twilight's place to organize the events, and it ends up a huge disaster. The ending was nice, with everypony coming together at the end to rebuild a large statue made of gemstones from each delegate's respective city will be honored. Overall I don't have much to say about this episode, and I wish we got to see the Grand Equestria Pony Summit. It wasn't bad per se, just disappointing.
What do you mean Spike was abusing his power? Spike never hurt anyone. No one was getting enslaved. Spike should have deserved better, He should even be considered a Prince! Spike has been helping Twilight all this time but only she gets the good stuff because he's a Princess? Come on! I think people are exaggerating about this episode when they say Spike was abusing his power. You wanna know what is the biggest slap to the face on Spike? That after this, Spike would never be able to live the life of Prince Blueblood. The life he wishes he had.

I guess the word choice might be extreme; its more like he took advantage of being the voice for Twilight Sparkle.

Also, I'm exploring this in the story i'm writing

That's cool man. Though Don't you think Cadence also has a fault of this with shifting the whole burden on little Spike and being stern with him? Cadence basically said do this and then left. She didn't send any help to him, no delegates to team up with and no guiding voice to Spike. Twilight is tired then what about Cadence, Luna and Celestia? Cadence specifically. Why didn't she help out? Where did she go?

the whole episode, in my opinion, isn't that good; it felt forced with how it was trying to make Spike the bad guy. I think it would've been way more interesting, maybe having princess cadance be the main character and her dealing with organizing things while Twilight sleeps instead.
