So a while back I joined this discord server with fellow fimfiction writers like myself and one of them asked me a question about Salem.
Could a flood infection form infect Salem from ITD?
Since I don't plan for any plague/disease to pop up in my story so might as well explain in a blog and maybe later on in a chapter's author notes.
Salem's body is barely organic mostly synthetic material and cybernetics along with other SCP compound materials basically preventing him from being sick by anything from bacteria, fungus, virus, spiritual/mentally (think pox walkers from 40k), or parasitically.
Plus the logic behind his transformation also could have him immune to the direct sun light from SCP-001 but he never tested that theory (Honestly who would).
But to answer the question is No, he can't be infected in such a matter.
I did tell him that and I would have left it at that too and not made this blog.
Yet there is one thing even the Chimera could not prepare for if he ended up in the Halo-verse instead of MLP and crossed paths with the flood.
Mind you this is a huge IF here: If he was captured by the flood they would find that similar to spartans and some humans (Ex: Sargent johnson) is that he would be immune to physical infection. They would hit him with the 'Logic Plague' which is what the grave mind used to torture Cortana in Halo 3 and if he were to encounter a 'Keymind' let's just say that Salem would be the next '032 Mendicant Bias' but worse to due to the SCPs he's carrying.
Who knows how that would turn out?

Here's the thing though, it doesn't matter how immune he is to diseases, as long as he has neural matter.
The Flood don't care about living, dead or other, once a Flood Spore gets into your system, it liqifies your insides and reshapes it to suit its needs until it can assimilate your grey matter into a Proto-Gravemind, using your remaining biomass to grow it.
