Time is one of those things that depends on the culture. Different cultures have different calendars, and various ways of telling time have been imposed and/or forgotten. The civil calendar most commonly used is the Gregorian calendar, a modified version of the Julian calendar, which has months named after Julius Caesar and Augustus I( July and August, respectively). There are multiple calenders, like the Islamic religious calendar or the traditional Chinese calendar.
