Question of the Week #87 · 3:30am Jan 6th, 2023
Hello everyone and welcome back to the question of the week. Happy new year to you all.
So, with Wizards of the Coast (WotC) seemingly trying to alienate their fanbase and burn DnD to the ground, my friends and I have been considering the idea of dipping our toes into other rpg systems, while at the same time I'm experimenting with the idea of creating my own system.
Currently the system that I'm working on is a diceless system that uses a deck of playing cards (like the cards used in Poker) instead.
So, this week's questions will revolve around these.
- What's a tabletop rpg that you'd love to see come up more in mlp fanfics?
- What is a cool card game mechanic that you like, that you think might be cool to see in an rpg?
That's all I have for now.
Thank you all for coming and for providing your feedback. Stay safe and have a splendid day.

Question 1: Canon uses Bland Name Products (see TvTropes) even when Hasbro owns the property being referenced. Since it doesn't have the usual legal necessity of that trope, we have to assume it's a worldbuilding choice. (Insert Nick Fury meme, if that's how you feel). They won't and can't mention anything that actually exists by name unless they're breaking the fourth wall, and you already include ways to have readers ask in-universe characters questions without technically doing that.
They can not copy game mechanics.
If you want something less combat focus then I say start with the Call of Cthulhu system and changing the theme to mlp would be good. Mainly because it is less combat focus and more investigation focus. You would need to add a magic system to it.
I like pathfinder and shadow run a lot. :3
