    Author update!

I'm editing stuff! But also incredibly dried out of writing power atm. I'll get going again soon, but just bear with me for a bit. I'm publishing a chapter of XCOM today, then start on the daily writing (not publishing) again tomorrow morning. In the meantime, always remember:

    Remembering Koji Wada

Like every year, I like to remember the man/legend responsible for the theme songs of one of my favorite shows of all time on the anniversary of his death.

So if you were wondering about the timing for the latest Isekai chapters? There you go.

    Welp, here's a life update

These last couple of weeks have been a bit of a rollercoaster. Good things have happened, and also bad ones. No wonder I could relate to both Furina and Navia in the latest Isekai chapter. Sometimes pretending things are fine is really exhausting, even if they do get better.

...still writing ponies. (Among other things, granted.)

Update to the Isekai coming tonight! And some additional details and change of plans.

First, to everyone waiting patiently for the next Isekai chapter, I apologize for the delay. I know there are a lot of people that want to see another visit to Hell happen soon, and it will, I promise. However, due to some circumstances, I decided for a different pair of visitors to visit the bar this week.

Welp, it was bound to happen · 4:47am Dec 14th, 2022

So far I hadn't gotten Covid... but the day finally came. My son wasn't feeling great on Sunday we did a home test and he came back positive, then we confirmed via PCR tests that it was the case. I'm awaiting my results still, but considering how I feel and the fact that he kept coughing in my face... yeah, even vaccinated and boosted it's not going to stop that kind of fight of attrition.

It's like he forgot the point of covering his mouth.

Welp, indeed.
I pray you good luck. Hope your body's immunity is good enough to withstand the virus. One of my friend ended up being the only one in his whole household of five that didn't catch the virus.

Well that sucks.

Thankfully being vaccinated and boosted reduces severe symptoms by a wide margin. I suggest plenty of pedialyte & Ensure if you can't stomach normal amounts of food or soup to maintain your strength. Same goes for the little one.
At least you and your son will be riding this one together so you don't have to isolate from each other!

If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me. Hope you get better soon!

Go see if you can get yourself paxlovid. Even being overweight qualifies you for it.

I assume your kid is in some kind of school? Those places are practically breeding grounds for disease.

Ah yes, I caught it myself this year after meeting a group at BABS (having gotten a booster literally two days before the con). If you're able to qualify for the monoclonal antibodies, grab them ASAP. I was totally asymptomatic so I wouldn't have even known to test if one of our group hadn't also caught it and tested positive (and thus told us to test ourselves). The second I got my positive result back I called my doctors and they got me the MCAB practically the next day, and I still felt nothing after that. I don't know if MCAB would help with those symptoms you've got, but if you can get 'em, it certainly wouldn't hurt. If that isn't an available option, though, then like 5703204 said, see if you can get some Paxlovid.

Fingers crossed you two heal quickly!

Got it myself a few weeks back. Rest well, good sir.

Good luck, man.

Yeah, that's about what happened to me a few weeks ago. Family member I'm staying with at the moment caught it at work, brought it home unawares, gave it to me. Three days of full-body aches, intermittent headache, phlegm, coughing, and exhaustion. I'm still a bit more tired at the end of the day than I normally would be, but it's getting better day by day. Last week, I couldn't stay up for more than 6 hours without wanting to crawl back into bed with a heater turned on.

Good health to you and your son, amigo, and may you both recover swiftly and without excitement.

Good luck and health vibes to you and your family!

Oof, that sucks. If you get it, I hope the symptoms are mild and it passes quickly!

Keep up the fluid intake, and even if you have extreme loss of appetite, eat something every few hours.

I didn't, and I lost nearly 10% of my body weight in a week and a half.

Cold medicine may help with some of the symptoms, enough to let you sleep through the night.

Good luck to you both.

Best of luck. Already plenty of good advice here, so I'm just hoping you have a mild case.

Hope you both feel better soon! Hopefully the vaccine helps you heal faster and keeps the worst of the symptoms at bay.

Well, perhaps it won't be so bad. It impacts different people in different ways. It hit me like a truck and put me out of commission for over a week, but my parents both got it and fully recovered in two or three days. In my dad's case it was nothing more than a bad cough and a stuffy head.

But you'll all be fine. Relax, stay hydrated, binge TV shows. Introduce your son to that movie you enjoyed when you were his age so he can tell you how movies in your time were shit.

Been there, yea. Thankfully, with the vaccine, it's manageable. Was like a week of bad flu for me. Lost my sense of smell for a few days, but it thankfully came back soon after.

(Side note: going to the toilet without a sense of smell is weird :rainbowhuh:)

The worst part, in my case, was that sleep deprivation tends to give me migraines, and the pain of the illness kept me awake just enough to tip that scale right at the start of it all. Migraine is never nice, but try having a phone call with your doctor to get the medical paperwork for getting sick leave from work, while having a migraine attack. Honestly worse than anything covid threw at me for the rest of the week :raritydespair:

Oh no! Poor you and poor kiddo. Lotsa good advice already so just sending all my good vibes.

Hoping for a quick and complete recovery for you and yours.

Best of luck! My advice is to curl up in a warm bed and read some fan fiction that you been meaning to. I was a early adoptor of that crap way back when it was still called Corona. Felt like I was breathing glass.

Ooof. Best of luck to the both of you, dude. Hopefully everything clears up by christmas. x.x

Hope you both get through it. Best wishes.

Here's hoping your family's bouts are as lightweight as mine were, and just as quick to be fought off!

5703325 I can't now, since you invoked Shonen anti-hero vibes there when you said it. I can only imagine you at the top of a streetlamp, standing still, glancing over your shoulder at me with a knowing smirk, daring me to prove your faith in me wrong.
5703320 It's been a rollercoaster so far.
5703275 We will! Thanks!
5703273 maybe this will keep that creep that goes down the chimney from sneaking in.
5703259 Thank you!
5703251 5703235 5703230 5703225 5703217 5703219 Good advice in addition to good ol' home recipes of delicious food will keep us through.
5703242 Yeah, the migrane this morning was a B*.
5703240 thanks, yeah we're both taking it easy. Him more than me tho, lol.
5703236 it seems to be doing its job so far, I'm guessing that it can get worse, but I don't want to imagine how bad today would've been without it.
5703233 Yep! Appetite is still strong, thankfully we're both eating.
5703220 Yeah, symptoms for me so far match yours.
5703214 5703204 taking a look at that!
5703207 Yeah, he's in Middle School.
5703200 Will do bro!

Wishing you both a full & speedy recovery!

Ooof :fluttershyouch:

Ah, I hope it wasn't (or isn't, but I also hope it's in the past tense) too bad; sorry about that.
