Welp, reality decided to fuck me over once again · 9:00pm Dec 11th, 2022
Now it won't even let me be comfortable in my own home. The roof finally gave way and the whole ceiling is leaking water and mold into my room. The whole roof needs to be renovated and it can cost at least 20k euros.
Reality won't even let me have my fucking room to retreat to. IT WON'T LEAVE ME ALONE!
Sorry man....
That is sad
Reality is really trying to drive you Psycho
Oof, sorry to hear that, man. 😞

Not really the moment seeing as my house is about to cave.
Maybe you can get some of it paid for with your housing insurance?
5702786
They don't cover it. It isn't caused by weather damage or whatever. It's just the house getting old. I asked. What a useful bunch.
I don't know how much more I can take. It's just a constant barrage after barrage...
5702787
Well of course they will tell you that. It is their business NOT to pay you. You essentially need an insurance person to work on your side -- I forget what they are called. Essentially they work on commission and work for you with the insurance companies to make it far more likely that they pay out.

I know what you're talking about. We have one, but even then they take forever.
I'm at my limits. I don't know how much more of this bullshit I can take. Why waste my time in a reality that doesn't want me?
5702810
Well, if you have one, you know not to talk to them directly. As for life, most people have their own levels of issues. It gets better, usually, and it kicks you where it hurts sometimes. One soldiers on. As bad as you see yourself having it, many people have it worse. Death is not the answer.
5702818
Perhaps, but they are them, and I am me.
5702830
But do you really think, for your own sake and your friends and family, that it'd be better to go? Personally, I say nay. That's definitely not the case.
As for the insurance stuff, good thing is that the person is informed and, even if it'll take some time, it will get cleared up eventually. So keep on surviving. Life be that way sometimes, as sad as it is.
5702877
But it's non-stop... I don't think a 'be that way' is supposed to last for several years straight.
Sorry that it happened to you.

But it can also partially be how you focus and what you focus on in life. As in, if you concentrate on the more negative aspects without taking the positive stuff or 'silver lining' into consideration. That can spiral down really fast as well.

I try to enjoy the positives, but I've noticed that every positive is then met with a negative of equal or greater value.
My car tire was flattened by a screw. My uncle fixed it. Then I got the new cat, and now my roof is leaking through its entirety, it'll cost too much, and I lost my room because of it.
5703063
But you don't know if it'll cost too much if the process of the insurance guy isn't even over yet. For example.
5703097
Insurance won't cover this.
Time to do the DIY! Mr.Bean style! Get creative (and post some pix).
Oh. That tells me a lot.
5702810
Reality wants you so much you can't get out of it.

My uncle is something a handyman. He's a mechanic, a computer technician (like me), and can do minor electrical work.
The only thing I got up on him is that I'm a network administrator and a writer (not yet an author).

I think you misunderstood that particular comment. I consider tire punctures a DIY job unless it's the Ferguson. So how likely is it that you do something about that leak?
5703306
I thought that tire leaks meant the whole tire had to be replaced. Turns out my uncle had a kit made specifically to repair it, so it's good to go now.
