More Authors on this Site Need to Credit their Cover Artists.

Just something I've noticed, and if I may, am not very impressed by. And this isn't something I've only been noticing from new/small writers—there are plenty of big name authors on this site who I've found don't mention their cover artist anywhere in their story description, nor use the source URL box provided to them.

We as writers do not get to pick and choose art to represent our own work and act as an eye grabber without crediting. Doing so is negligent at best and completely entitled at worst.

I’ve yet to use anything but show screenshots for my covers (the one that use vectors of what two character nights look like as fillies does use the source link), but I have every intention of doing this when I use cover art that isn’t just show screenshots in the future.

That said, you have a very good point, it’s something many folks are quite bad about.

I tried to credit the guy that did the cover of my current story but he dropped off the face of the earth without giving me any real info on where this art was before doing so And I think also deleted all this stuff... Best I was able to do was credit via the screen name he gave.

Yeah, exactly. I'm fine with people using my art if they ask and credit me but just grabbing it and putting it on their story is...not cool.
