Anyone else miss G4 pones? I haven't touched G5 other than the movie. It just feels... too different if that makes sense.

It would be interesting to see the stats comparing the two shows.

I personally prefer the G5 look for ponies. The eyes are more realistic in size. Both G4 and G5 have their charms, though FiM (G4) will always have a special place in my heart.

The movie was great.

Tell Your Tale is, for the most part, cute and predictable, for five-minute YouTube shorts, and that's pretty much all I can ask of it.

Chapter 1: Terrible
Chapter 2: Awesome, which made a new character skyrocket to the top of a lot of Best Pony lists.
Chapter 3: Passable holiday fluff, nothing of importance happens.

G4 certainly was a spectacular display of lightning in a bottle. It still surprises me in hindsight that a new iteration of a little girl’s cartoon could garner such a widespread community and dedicated fans for over a decade now, still vibrant and going steady. So many amazing artworks, theories, stories, music, characters, and overall creations inspired by this one show.

I’ve only watched the G5 movie at length so far. I’ve given peaks at the little shows (I get their names mixed up), they seem alright but the newer 3D one just makes me think of one of the numerous Nickelodeon shows based off a Dreamworks movie. Which I suppose isn’t too far off, in essence, but it hasn’t quite hooked me like I hoped. One of these days I gotta sit down and just watch it for myself.
