Not much to say, really. I'll probably buy a bunch of alcohol when I get home today. You know, I think the best thing about Canada is the 19-year drinking age. Universal healthcare is nice, but come on! Booze!

Not much to report since my last blog, really. No big huge events or anything.

Life is still busy, but I've found the time to write here and there.

The new chapter of MoI is steadily progressing along. In fact, I'm gonna be keeping this blog short, so that I can get back to attempting to write it.

As for why the chapter hasn't already been released. Well, Friday kinda sucked, and I ended up not writing anything at all. Saturday was better, made some good progress. I intended to finish on Sunday (today, as I write this), when suddenly it was my father's birthday.

Huh, go figure.

So anyway, we gathered up the family, went up on a mountain, and all in all had a grand old time.

However, that mountain has another use. People tend to use it for a bit of off road driving.

We were just sitting there, munching happily on fried chicken and potato wedges, when we heard an engine approaching.

The noise was followed shortly by the nasty sound of crunching metal.

The dude in the truck was fine though, so it's all good.

In any case, not much writing done today, what with all the parent visiting, birthday parties, and flipping trucks.

I'm back home now, but it's getting kinda late at this point.

I'll try to write as much as I can though. Don't you worry. This chapter is coming. And so am I.

Again, I'm sorry. Because, again, there won't be a chapter this week.

Things are still busy as hell for me IRL, and I just haven't had the time to write anything at all.

This sucks because, unlike with MoW, I haven't lost my motivation to write. I really do want to write this chapter, I just don't have the time!

I was able to make an outline for it, at least.

It looks like it'll end up being a fairly short one, but that's just how it is sometimes.

Next week is going to be the busiest I've been so far, but on the bright side, things are looking less busy for a while after that.

Why, come this weekend, I might even have time to bang this chapter out! Wouldn't that be something?

Me, actually releasing a chapter? Yeah right!

Jeez... it seems all I ever do on these blogs is whine and apologize about not having enough free time...

News, everyone!

So things are getting really busy in real life for me right now.

Like, "free time, or sleep?" levels of busy.

I simply can't find much time for writing at all, so I just thought I should let you know. Updates will be slowing down for a while. Updates will not stop! In fact, I've started the next chapter of Mother of Invention, and written an outline of how I want it to go. Spoiler alert! It involves a cave!

Don't expect a chapter every week anymore though. Not that I was ever any good at sticking to that schedule anyway...

I was hoping to have that chapter ready to release alongside this blog, but alas, it seems I was unable to do even that.

In any case, I will continue to write and update Mother of Invention. The new chapters will simply be few and far between for a little while.

In more pleasant news, it seems the April Fools chapter was received well.

I was actually pretty worried about that one. I wrote it while drunk (what a surprise...), and actually came this close to not releasing it at all.

In the end, I threw caution to the wind and uploaded it anyway.

It garnered a couple dislikes, but all-in-all the reaction was positive.

The entire thing came from a couple comments about how the island reminded people of The Incredibles.

Also, I've been reading a lot of Dresden Files lately...

Anyway, it was fun to write at least, and I'm glad people didn't seem to hate it too much. Sorry, Scootaloser...

I will be keeping the April Fools chapter tacked on to the end of the story as a bonus chapter. Unless that messes up comments due to chapter numbers and such, in which case I'll figure something out.

Rest assured, the chapter will not be deleted.

Seriously, if MoI had a theme song this would absolutely be it. Start to finish, this song oozes awesomeness, and it fits Mother of Invention so well it's uncanny.

I've been itching to use it as a title ever since I first heard it, and in case you haven't noticed, I did just that.

So yeah, everyone go listen to that song. Give it a thumbs up. Leave comments declaring your undying love for NihilisticPony, the creator of the song.

If anyone was wondering or cares, my exams went fine last week. Sorry I haven't been around sooner. I've been spending a lot of the break... less than sober.

In any case, my grades spell out what someone says when falling off a cliff, so I'm plenty happy.

Finals begin in earnest tomorrow, but I did actually find time to whip up a new chapter over the weekend.

(That time may or may not have been 1:00 in the morning...)

Well, not quite. Finals are actually next week.

That being said, I'm going to spend this week doing reviews and finishing up tons of work.

I had really wanted to get one more chapter out this weekend, but it looks like that didn't happen.

However, I did outline the whole chapter so I might be able to release it before too long if I can find time to write.

Other than that, I won't be posting anything for the next two weeks. Really sorry about that, but rest assured that I'll get right back to writing as soon as finals are done with.

The video this time is a real treat. Like, seriously.

This short is one of my favourite things. It also may or may not be relevant to something I'm writing. Don't expect it soon though.

So as many of you have already figured out, Mare of War has become extremely hard for me to write.

This is due to a few things. Mostly, I wrote too much too fast, and kind of burned myself out on it.

As a result, I'm focusing on Mother of Invention right now (new chapter, on its way).  

Though I will finish Mare of War. No matter what, and no matter how long it takes.

To some of you, my change in focus will come as a disappointment. You want to read about soldier ponies. Well for you, I have some wonderful news.

I have recently read a fic. It's about war, it's about ponies, and it's absolutely positively great.

The fic is RAID by Aqua Fortis.

I had this on my read later list for a while, but only today did I finally decide to check it out.

I read the entire thing in one sitting! Seriously, I just could't stop. It's that good!

Adrenaline-pumping action, breathtaking suspense, intense emotional trauma, and copious amounts of drinking. This fic has it all and more!

It's some of the best in this genre without a doubt, and I'd even go so far as to call it my favorite fic at the moment.

It does so many things so right that I can't even begin to explain it. You'll just have to check it out yourself.

Unfortunately, RAID doesn't receive nearly the number of views it deserves. Now I know I've said not to write for the view count, and I hold to that.

But this fic deserves to be seen and appreciated by more people.

So go give it a try. Maybe you're tired of waiting for Mare of War to update (I know I am). If so I would definitely recommend RAID.

As a matter of fact, I'd recommend RAID to everyone reading this.

Just go read it. Comment on it. Pester the author to write more.

Give that fic the love it so rightly deserves.

You won't regret it.

Well, that just happened.

I have to say, I'm incredibly honoured that my story made the cut over there on Equestria Daily.

Something you all probably don't know is that I actually submit everything I write to EqD, just in case they like it.

In the past, I'd submitted all of my stories and they'd all been rejected outright.

So you can imagine my surprise when the response for Mother of Invention simply pointed out a couple errors, and asked me to resubmit when I had corrected them.

Needless to say, I got pretty excited. I enlisted the help of the always relevant Pilate in polishing it up a bit, of course.

Thank you once again, good sir. My stories would be nothing without you.
