Well since I'm not updating any of my own stories, I bring other people's stories that you can read during my period of laziness hiatus!
Let's pull out the wad of cotton and get straight to the aspirin...
We'll Dismember it for You, Wholesale! - by one of my fav writers, the same who wrote one of my all-time favorites, Banishment Decree. It's not technically BD canon, according to Chuck, but it easily appears to be a side story. It has that same wonderful chemistry between Gilda and Trixie, and it had me absolutely in stitches! I don't think I've laughed so hard at a fic since... well probably one of his other works. Rumble Splits Lickety, I think. Gay porn, but damn that was funny. Read that one too, while you're at it. I don't want to link to it because it's NSFW, and technicalities and all that.
Last - Yea it's an HiE with a similar name to mine, that's how I found it, and the writer suggested a read, I even got to preread a chapter! I enjoyed it, and while it's probably not the most original concept of how a human winds up in Equestria, I think it's done rather well.
He Never Had So Sweet a Changeling - I think I caught this one in the feature box, not sure. But I shrugged with a 'meh' and read it, and found myself really getting wrapped up in it. It hasn't turned into clop yet, and it's the right level of romance to make me enjoy it.
Interview with a Changeling - If you haven't read this yet, I really enjoyed it. Yes, it is a portrait of the writer's headcanon about changelings, but you don't notice as you read it, because the story is so good.
Under the Sun's Wings - A neat story about a lowly young changeling who gets captured by the enemy. I think it hits the right chords and so far, it's kept me wanting more. Even if Celestia (only her) is gender-swapped for some weird reason. Whatever, it's still a good read. (I may have helped in its production too!)
Carry On - I think I've recommended this one before. It's in the far distant future when the pony planet is dying and abandoned, and the immortals are wandering the burnt surface of the planet, wondering about the end of all things, when suddenly an epic pony space battle occurs! I'm making light of it of course, it's meant to be serious, but I think it's fantastic. Though I do find some of the action to be hard to follow, it's still definately worth a read.
Feather Steel - Neat sort of adventure-y story about a pegasus colt who's missing a wing and wants nothing more than to be able to fly. He visits Ponyville looking for parts for his contraption, and complications ensue. ColdSpike spent a LOT of time writing this, and he bounced a ton of ideas off me way early on.
A Novel Tale - Another good story about a changeling, again, a lot of headcanon, but the story makes it all worthwhile. This time he's a friendly changeling from a passive hive, who's just all kinds of 'crap now the ponies know about us.' lol
The Man with Two Names - Another HiE, but definately unique in the fact that the human never really... 'stars' in the story. Every chapter is told past tense from a specific pony's point of view, all as if they are recalling the events of a particular day, involving the human, to somepony else. It makes for a very interesting storytelling method, and keeps you guessing things about the human's backstory and inferring other things. Oh and most of the ponies hate his guts. Worth a read.
The Replacement - Yet another changeling fic. I'll be honest, it's not exactly the best fic. But it had me laughing, it's written well enough, and the main character is quite... the character. Hehe... see what I did there?
A Changeling's Endeavors into the Subtle Art of Wooing Mares - Caramel is a changeling. He's also Applejack's coltfriend. It's unfortunate because he actually loves her, and decides to tell her. She isn't happy. Then all sorts of shenanigans ensue as he tries to win her back.
Aaaaaaand... that's it! Do be a dear and leave a comment on the story with something or other like 'Red sent me' if you happen to enjoy one or more of these awesome fics.
