    Pure Nostalgia · 4:38am

This is the feeling I'm experiencing as I sit in my bed typing this after returning from my 9:00 viewing of Jurassic Park (IN 3D!!!).

As with every kid in the 90's, I grew up loving dinosaurs. My beloved Land Before Time tape was so worn through that my parents had to go through three different VHS copies! I loved dinosaurs that much!

    And then Jurassic Park...

    I saw it.

And today, I sadly only remember one glimpse of the T-Rex, and the fact that I kept knocking over my popcorn on the floor.

My one shot at a theater experience for the movie, wasted by youthful stupidity.

Oh sure, my family bought the videos and I watched them a lot growing up (but not too much though, cause dinosaurs were becoming "kid's stuff" at that time), so I knew the punchlines, the actions, and the characters, but... this theater outing... it made me realize how much I missed when I first watched it.

This was actually just a passing interest for me. "How different could it be?" I wondered, looking at my copy of the Jurassic Park triple pack (the one with all three DVDs).

I was lucky to get off early last night, and decided instead of waiting till my day off Monday, that I'll catch a viewing that night.

I don't regret it. At all.

This viewing... It's odd, I know, as I just watched this exact same movie a few months ago, but this viewing actually made me start crying at certain parts.

Hammond's part in the Helicopter when he says "There it is!" then the music started playing? Biggest freaking grin I had no idea could even exist appeared on my face and stayed that way up till they got into the jeeps.

And then Hammond stopped the cars in preperation, and I started feeling a pressure in my eyes.

Ellie and Grant's shocked reaction, that smile was back.

And then it appeared on screen, with it's call coming from the theater's speakers?

I was shaking from holding in silent sobs as tears poured down my cheeks. Stayed that way till the scene changed to the visitor's center.

I was crying for such a missed moment of my life.

But I was also crying because I get to so perfectly see such a huge part of my childhood once again.

    Nostalgia at it's finest.

That's not to say that's the only reason why you should go see the movie!

The 3D effects were amazing! Though I don't have much to base that assumption off of (my only other experience being Rise of the Guardians, and I couldn't see any difference between normal and 3d in that one), the fact that most of the movie looked so crisp and defined compared to my normal view was damned near magical!

When the raptor jumped at Lex, I jumped cause it looked like it actually snapped at me!

I'm not sure how I can better say "Go see this movie while it's still in theater's... again" beyond what I've done so far.

    Really. Go.

    If not for nostalgia.

If not for the good story.

If not for the great acting.

Then just go for the roar.

    Ya know THE Roar.

Just came back from The Hobbit.

What the hell is everyone complaining about? It was awesome!

There were some things that were movie filler (Azog and his back story with Thorin was NOT in the book), and there were some discrepancies (Bilbo accidentally invited Gandalf to tea in the book, which opened the door for the others, minor but what they did in the movie made Gandalf out to be such a dick in that moment), but they were easy to get over, or were so freaking awesome that I just didn't mind! (two words: Rock Giants. My mouth was dropped the entire time they were on screen! Damn you 2003 Hobbit game! You made the Rock Giants so lame compared to what Jackson did!)

It's slow? You had three previous movies to get used to the speed.

It's not as grand? There's no overbearing, world ending evil to combat.

A story is a story. If it's told well, that's all that should matter.

Thankfully though, this story was told by a master!

I give this movie a "YOU HAVE GOT TO SEE THIS IN THEATERS" rating (because I have no number system like a guy I know who does movie reviews named James Eagan). Soak up the awesome view of those giants on the big screen while it lasts!

No way of denying it. I'm drunk off my asss right now. Had two cops at my family's "Mayans were wrong" party (fully endorsed by Pinkie Pie! (but apparently, I'm not drunk enough to forget the bbc code for a smiling Pinkie~! :twilightsheepish:)) Not to break it up! But they were professionals. They both tested me and my dad.

    We both failed miserably.

    Me worse than him.

But hey! I have learned that I am in fact a happy drunk!

Only take sips to understand what alcohal tastes like if you're underage kids. to keep you safe from spiked punch at highschool parties and all.

And drink responsibly if you're ligal!

    I got a banner! · 5:50pm

    Best. Birthday. Ever!

I come on today, and find that someone (Bright Heart) actually took time out of their lives to make a beautiful banner for my first group The Hero... Nightmare Moon? without being commissioned or even asked!

I just feel bad that I can't do anything in return... TT.TT

Oh saddest and most sorrowful of days!

Of all the most horrendous of fates to befall me, this is truly the most horrible!

My friend. My companion of 5 years! The one who hath brought me stories, inspiration, and joy for such a long and dedicated time, hath finally fallen in his line of duty.

My Xbox. My beautiful Halo 3 Special Edition Xbox. Though thou finally falls, I shall never forget your refusal to quit, never giving me a problem besides a few freezes that's expected of all consols. Even if another were to take your place as my key entertainer should I fail to find a way to revive you, you shalt be given the best mosolleum on my prize shelf I can give to you.

    I commit to thee, farwell...

    ...

Alright, in all seriousness, I actually am sad to finally get the feared E73 error code for my Xbox. But not to actual sorrow like I implied/joked about in the above section.

After 5 years, I've expected this to happen. But after so long, this sadness is mixed with pride, because I can now say with honesty that "My Xbox was better than yours!" because while others failed within the first few months, mine soldiered on for five long years under the intense gaming that I brought to it.

But it kinda sucks that it finally failed just as I was about to put in my new copy of Dead Space 2. But that's life for you.

HOLY HELL!!! I knew I read a lot, but DAMN! I looked at my estimated words read and frankly, I'm shocked at that number.

And to think, that's just the couple hundred stories I've read here alone!

MY FANFICTION.NET FAVS LIST HAS OVER 2000 STORIES IN IT!!!

...My god, I'm having that awkward moment that I realize I have little life... Truth be told, it's not that bad either.
