When reading a story, do you prefer seeing distances in English units (miles, yards, feet, inches) or Metric (kilometers, meters, centimeters, etc)?

Also, an update on the current WIP one-shot: yes, it's still going. I'm a little over half way on the raw text (is longer than expected).

Time to abuse this blog thing and annoy you all...

Okay, for real then.

I'm going to keep writing. Brilliant. I've got two months off school, so hopefully I'll be able to get a nice one-shot primed and ready. One-shot because life is going to get zany and unpredictable in the next 3 years, and I can write it at my own pace.

Pace: 6 months x ~30 days = 180 days, ~90,000 words/180 days = ~500 words per day.

Therefore, a 10,000 word story should take 20 days, right? Let's factor in the proofing, editing, having another proof, more editing, scraping, rewriting, and editing again... that'd put it around 7 years. Blast.

Anyway, just know I'm still writing, even if I'm slow as the bloody trolley car *shrug*

I'll stop wasting your time now.

So, one month of school this summer coming up here in a few days. Shouldn't cut in too much to my writing time as I do it mostly at night anyway, but if it slows that's why *ponyshrug*

Ok, a little update on this story...

First, new picture! Hooray for paths in GIMP. Took a few hours.

Second, I got myself a prereader! This should cut out all those "stupid" mistakes like double words and what not. Admittedly, my prereader is not a brony, so I might still miss something like "people" or "hand."

Anyway, thought I'd inform y'all, in case you found those things annoying.

Any of you who attend Equestria Daily, well, daily, hopefully noticed the blackout that has been going on today, the 18th.

EqD isn't alone in doing this. The blackout today was supported by some top-dog big-time companies, including Google and Wikipedia, along with countless other companies and individuals. I can't even name all the sites I've been to supporting the blackout protest today. Wordpress, omploader, the list goes on.

So I was surprised when I didn't see anything on here. Especially, when this is the type of sites SOPA and PIPA will allow them to go after if it gets past. Right now, it's pretty much at the discretion of the company (in this case, Hasbro), but that would change if either gets passed.

Support your fandom. Support your freedom. Send SOPA and PIPA to the moon.

Raise public awareness. While most anyone reading this already knows about it most likely, your less computer-inclined friends very well might not. Tell them about SOPA and PIPA, why they should oppose it, and how they can go about doing that.

Reach out into the real world and make a difference. Computers are the framework for the next generation, but we still have the current and passing generations voting in the U.S. political system.
