After going through the list of 300 applications, we narrowed it down to about 20 maybes and 4 yes's. The 4 we have said yes to have all been made story approvers now, and you'll start seeing them approving your stories. So please welcome to the crew, in no particular order:

We need a few more guys to help out with approving stories, so I'm making this post to let you guys know what to do if you're interested.

First of all, because it's impossible to vet easily for this, I'm going to be requiring certain things to be fulfilled if you want to apply.

1. You must have at least 2 stories approved (if you're really keen, but not a writer, you can try and apply but I'll be needing more evidence you're in it for the good of the site)

2. You must be around for a decent amount of the day to approve stories (doesn't mean there's tons of them, just that I need people to be able to check maybe once every couple of hours while they're around)

3. You must not have a prior bad history with us (we know). If you've been banned before, don't try and apply

4. Your stories should be decently rated (up to me to decide exactly what that means)

5. Should have a skype account

6. Should be comfortable following rules we set out

7. Should already have a basic understanding of the sort of stories that are allowed on fimfic

8. You must be 18+

If you believe you fit all these criteria and want to be part of a [motivational spiel about fimfic being some dynamic company or something], please send me a PM with the subject "Fimfic Mod Application". In here you should let me know your skype account, hours you can be around (please give me GMT times, or at least tell me your timezone), and why you want to be a mod.

I'd love to do something other than TF2 but it's difficult to think of any other games that facilitate a bunch of people playing something, since it supports lots of players and everyone has it. Finished playing this last night, heartily recommend playing when it comes out (or now if you're nefarious).

It's basically an homage to 80s sci fi and action films like Robocop, Terminator and Predator. A lot of weaponry is literally ripped from these films, and the game relies on a lot of nods to the films for its humour. There's a lot of poking fun at modern game mechanics too. It's quite short, but any longer and it might have overstayed its welcome. The music is particularly fantastic; it really does sound like something ripped straight out of an 80s film.

Gameplay-wise, it could have been better. The stronghold takeovers have some interesting mechanics, but doesn't sufficiently reward you for making best use of them. Going in guns blazing is perfectly plausible even on hard which was disappointing. The blood dragons are hella cool though.

Dear Fimfiction,

It is with bittersweet regret that I must speak to you today.

As of today, I, knighty, will no longer run and maintain Fimfiction.net. Instead, I relinquish full control of the site to my best friend and homosexual life partner , Poultron.

I'm making this decision for a number of reasons; chief among them is the fact that I've grown tired of the site. I've been asking for months for a proper sequel to My Little Dashie, and you guys just haven't written enough of them. In addition, after the recent changes to the site went over less than well, a disgruntled Fimfiction user hired a contract killer to bludgeon my fingers. As a result, I have been unable to code for weeks, and am dictating this post through my secretary, Wlah.

I see this as a mostly positive change in the long run. Getting away from ponies will allow me to pursue my true passion of opera singing, and I've heard that Poultron already has some great changes planned for the site - you should be able to see some of his ideas implemented before the end of the day.

To everyone on the site: thank you for years of fanfiction, and for your hours of sanctimonious bitching at the free website I gave you. I know that Poultron will carry the same spirit of passive conflict avoidance I tried to hold myself to, and I wish him and you all the best in Fimfiction's future.
